Centennial Park Timaru Part 1 - by Travellers Guide Ron E Bishop
Centennial Park in Timaru New Zealand is an inspiring place to be with native plants and trees with the sounds of bird life and a gentle stream runs into a small lake inhabited by ducks. The Park has a fascinating history follow in the eruption of Mt Horrible 2500 million years. The balsalt Blue stone rock boulders were carried by rail down to the sea shore and used to build the Timaru harbour

Centennial Park Timaru - Black Hole - GoPro
The 'Black Hole' Track is a very small section of Timaru's Centennial Park (The Scenic) Mountain Biking Trails. This short piece of single track ducts into a very thick section of trees and it gets dark fast (hence the name). It is steep, slippery and always a fun time.

The Scenic Timaru New Zealand
Timaru's Centennial Park (widely known amongst locals as 'The Scenic'), which forms the western (ish) town boundary. The area is popular with walkers and mountain bikers. It is a lovely park in a small valley, with a mixture of native bush, pines, gums, oaks, and other exotic trees. A small lake and carpark lies at its heart, and a stream runs through the middle. It was quarried for rocks for harbour works in both the 19th and 20th centuries.
