A popular area near Simon Fraser University, this park offers beautiful views of the North Shore mountains as well as downtown Vancouver. There is a small playground surrounded by grassy areas and picnic tables for summer barbecues.
There is so much to do including hiking and bike trails, viewing the Kamui Mintara (Playground of the gods), as well as a walking path to admire the Centennial Rose garden. Horizons restaurant is a great venue for special occasions and celebrations.
A short drive from the rest of the greater Vancouver area, this park is ideal for impromptu picnics or after dinner walks.
Is There A Black Bear In Central Park Burnaby
While we were walking our dog in Central Park , we came across some scat that looked unusual. After close inspection I realized it was black bear scat. Although it is very unusual to see a black bear this far into the city, it does happen. (see below video links) If you happen to see any bears in Burnaby or in Vancouver, I'd like to hear about it in the comments. These three little coyote pups were playing in an open area in Central Park. They were easily startled and came back out of the bushes several minutes later. This video was taken in Central Park, Burnaby B.C. Canada June 6 2016.
Snakehead Caught In Central Park Burnaby
Snakehead Caught In Central Park, Burnaby B.C. Canada on Friday June 8, 2012. After first being spotted May 13, 2012 on Mothers Day, the snakehead fish that had eluded Government Officials and citizens who tried to capture the infamous fish, has finally been caught after the pond was drained about 2.5 feet. At most, there was probably about a foot of water left in the deepest part of the pond which made it easier for officials to locate the snakehead. I am relieved to see that they were successful on their second attempt. If this unfortunate incident ever occurs somewhere else in Canada, I hope they hire a professional snakehead hunter that uses a bow and arrow that has a line attached to the arrow and a reel attached to the bow. I say this only because it seems like the most effective way to capture the snake head fish without destroying the aquatic life and it would be more cost effective.

Central Park is a 90-hectare (220-acre) urban park in Burnaby, British Columbia, founded in 1891.
The park is on the Vancouver–Burnaby border, just west of the Metropolis at Metrotown shopping complex, and is bounded by Boundary Road on the west, Kingsway on the north, Patterson and Willingdon Avenues on the east, and Imperial Road on the south. The nearest SkyTrain station, Patterson station, named for Burnaby pioneer Dugald Campbell Patterson, is at the park's northeast corner. The main entrance to Central Park is off Kingsway near Patterson Avenue.
