Day 3. The night is upon us. After a long day, we are enjoying some refreshments in Parque Central (Central Park), to wind down in Granada, Nicaragua.

The history and spectacular sights found here make Granada one of the most visited destinations and one of the most popular attractions in Nicaragua.
Here, we are going to walk through Parque Central (Central Park) which is known as the heart of the city of Granada. It is an oasis of tall green palms, soft grassy lawns and calm and tranquility that makes you forget that you are surrounded by a city.
Nicaragua, set between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, is a Central American nation known for its dramatic terrain of lakes, volcanoes and beaches. Vast Lake Managua and the iconic stratovolcano Momotombo sit north of the capital Managua. To its south is Granada, noted for its Spanish colonial architecture and an archipelago of navigable islets rich in tropical bird life.

Walking around Parque Central, Granada, Nicaragua
Walking around and exploring the Parque Central in central Granada, Nicaragua. The park is surrounded by food stands, souvenir sellers and the cathedral. Between the Cathedral and the Lake there is a street full of touristy restaurants, bars, hotels and tour sellers. If you spend time in Granada you will use the parque central as a navigation point so it's good to locate it early in the trip and use it to figure out how to get around town.
