Snowfall - Leh, Ladakh - India (enroute Changla Pass) -2008
Video is on the way to Changla Pass from Pangong Lake... It was snowing throughout.. therefore couldn't get a good view of the lake... however it was the first snowfall for some of us.. that kinda compensated the whole thing and will look forward in seeing the Pangong Lake next time we go. However we did go to Tsomoriri - will put in videos of the same in due course.
The surprising factor was Snow in the month of July as it is the hottest month in Leh !

Tripjodi did Leh Ladakh winter expedition in January 2019 with triumph expeditions.
Chang La Pass (17,590 ft), The second highest motorable road in the world. We were very lucky to be at this location after visiting the highest motarable road at Khardung la Pass.There are certain precautions necessary while visiting this place due the cold and chill climate and less of oxygen due to the altitude. 15 -20 minutes would be the ideal time one can spend on the Chang la pass. So, it is advised not to exert here, finish your photography within minutes. The breathtaking views from this region leave any visitor speechless and will be a memorable adventure trip.
Pangong Lake, is an endorheic lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,350 m (14,270 ft). One of the biggest tourist attractions of the country. It is extremely scenic and super calm, truly a wonder of God's creation. Its beauty cannot be expressed in words, you have to be there to see and feel it.

ChangLa Pass - 17688 ft. - Ladakh
ChangLa Pass is the world's 3rd highest motorable pass at the height of 17688 ft. It is the gateway to the high altitude blue lake - Pangong Tso. Adventure seekers very often experience heavy snowfall on this pass even in the Summers. This video features one such instance of snowfall at this pass.

Changla Mountain Pass, Ladakh, India
On our journey to heart of Ladakh, we have traveled in many mountain passes, but Chang La hands down beats as the most ferocious and troublesome yet attractive of the passes. Standing at merely 17600 ft, this monster is continuously inhabited by our brave soldiers who is stationed there to protect our nation. This is the third highest motorable pass in Ladakh (after marismik La and Khardung La)
We encountered a rock fall on the way up very near to the top of pass, which nearly forced one vehicle off the mountain side and stopped traffic for hours. I took photo of a rare rock formation standing precariously on side of the road on the way up, seemingly about to topple at the slightest tremors but yet solidly standing there for centuries.
Things can never be predicted here, for the weather can change in an hour, rocks can fall on the way, puddles formed a day earlier might be dangerous thin ice the next day, roads need to be rebuilt within weeks of fresh relaying. A planned journey can easily go haywire while travelling through Chang La.

The third highest motorable mountain pass in the world, Chang La Pass, situated at an altitude of 5,360 m or 17,590 ft above sea level. The name literally means Pass towards the South or Pass in the South (Chang = south, La = Pass). It is claimed that Chang La is named after the Sadhu Changla Baba.
The Chang La is on the route to Pangong Lake from Leh, Chang La is approached from Leh via Kharu and Sekti village by an asphalt road. The Changla Pass is the main gateway for the Changthang Plateau situated in the Himalayas. The world’s highest research station, established by the Defence Research and Development Organisation is functional in Chang La at a height of 17,664 ft.
These high altitude passes are one of the reason why road trip to Ladakh is a preferred mode of Ladakh trip. Crossing these passes with snow capped peaks, barren landscape and view of undulating valley add to the adventure of Leh Ladakh travel. One must cross Changla Pass to reach famous Pangong Tso Lake, one of the largest high altitude lakes in India. There is a tea point at the Chang La Pass where hot tea is served to the tourists and public convenience is also available unlike many other passes in Laddakh.

CHANG LA PASS LADAKH 2018 BIKE RIDE
The Chang La (elevation 5,360 m or 17,590 ft) is a high mountain pass in Ladakh, India.[1][2] It is claimed to be the second highest motorable road in the world (which is either Marsimik La or Mana Pass). Chang La is approached from Leh via Kharu and Sekti village by an asphalt road. The climb is very steep and requires a careful drive. The stretch of 10-15 km road on either side from Chang la is loose dirt and slush.During the summer months specifically the tourist season, small streams appear across the road, making the climb a challenge for the bikers. The descent from Chang La towards Tangtse or Darbuk is again very steep. As per the medics, it is advisable to not stay at the top for more than 20-25 mins as it could be detrimental to health owing to its high altitude.

The Changla Pass is the main gateway for the Changthang Plateau situated in the Himalayas. The nomadic tribes of the region are collectively known as the Changpa or Chang-pa. LEH TO PANGONG VIA CHANGLA | LEH TO PANGONG ROAD CONDITION
Pangong Tso can be reached in a five-hour drive from Leh, most of it on a rough and dramatic mountain road. The road crosses the villages of Shey and Gya and traverses the Chang La, where army sentries and a small teahouse greet visitors.
