How Pakistani React On India's Tallest Railway Chenab Bridge | Jammu and Kashmir | India 2019
The Chenab bridge project is part of Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Line
The deck height of the bridge (height above the river) is 359 m (1,178 ft)
The bridge is 1315 m (4,314 ft) long
Soon, India will have the world's highest railway-arch bridge over river Chenab in Jammu and Kashmir. The Chenab Bridge, which is under construction between Bakkal and Kauri in the Reasi district, is part of Indian Railways' mega plan to connect Kashmir valley with Udhampur known as Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Line.
When complete, the 359-meter high bridge on river Chenab will be the world's highest. The base support of the bridge was completed in 2017 and according to the tweet by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, the construction work of the main arch is in full swing.
The bridge will also have a 14m-wide dual carriageway and a 1.2m-wide central verge. The bridge has 17 spans as well as 469m main arch span across the river. The bridge has two 36m-long approach spans.
The steel used in the bridge is blast proof and Railways is also installing an online monitoring and warning system to ensure swift response if the need arises. India's Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) is closely working with Indian Railways on this project.
The Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Line will give a massive boost to the transportation sector in Jammu & Kashmir. The entire project is 345km long, of which, the Chenab Bridge is a key part.
On Thursday(December 27), India's Rail Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted that the Chenab Bridge will soon be a reality as the construction work is in full swing.

The Chenab Bridge is an Indian railway steel and concrete arch bridge under construction between Bakkal and Kauri in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir in India. When completed, the bridge will span the Chenab River at a height of 359 m (1,178 ft) above the river, making it the world's highest rail bridge. In November 2017 the base supports were declared completed allowing for the start of the construction of the main arch.
Northern Railway has undertaken the mega-project of constructing a new railway line across the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir between the towns of Udhampur near Jammu and Baramulla on the northwestern edge of the Kashmir Valley. This project was declared a national project in 2002.It is directed by the Northern Railway.
The extraordinary challenge lies in a large number of tunnels (totalling 63 km in length and bridges (7.5 km) to be implemented in highly rugged and mountainous terrain, with the difficult Himalayan geology. The most difficult part is believed to be the crossing of the deep gorge of the Chenab River, near Salal Hydro Power Dam,by the Chenab Bridge.
Another, smaller, arch bridge proposed on the new railway line was the 657 m (2,156 ft) long, 189 m (620 ft) high Anji Khad Bridge between Katra and Reasi over the Chenab river tributary river. This proposal was abandoned by the railway due to the specific geology of the location and a cable-stayed bridge is proposed.

World's tallest Rail Bridge - Chenab Bridge - USBRL- Authentic -Latest Update 2019 - Kashmir Project
5:48 Extremely rare Tectonic plate friction debris
World's highest Railway bridge - Chenab Bridge and Anji bridges are the most significant part of prestigious National Project Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramula-Rail-Link (USBRL, Kashmir Railway Project) is now scheduled to be completed by Dec 2021. Srinagar (J&K) valley will be connected to the national rail network of India. It is one of the toughest project in India due to typical topography, tough terrain, and inaccessible approach to Tunnels and bridges. The total length of this project was 326Km, out of which Udhampur-Katra (25Km) was constructed and inaugurated in 2009, where as the Baramula Srinagar Banihal section (118Km) was constructed and inaugurated in 2014, local trains are already running in this section . The famous Chenab bridge is 49Km north of Jammu on Katra-Kazigund section (111Km) where in the construction activity is going on at full swing, which we witnessed during our recent visit to the project during oct 2019. The bridge comprises of 17 spans on viaduct and a giant Arch spanning 467m across river Chenab, the height of this arch will be 359m i.e. 35 m more than Eiffel tower. It is being constructed by CBPU (Chenab Bridge Project Undertaking) Joint Venture of ULTRA-AFCONS-VSL. Once constructed it will be world's highest rail bridge.

For erection of Arch bridge,Pylons & Cable cranes have been used. First time the girders and arch are being erected incrementally. Pylons (127 m height at Srinagar end & 105 m at Katra end; Span is 915m) have been erected on either end of Chenab Bridge for launching of Arch, Pier and trestles.
Capacity of each cable crane is 20 MT and under combined operation it is 37 MT.
Longest Cable Crane( 915m) of the world for launching purpose.
The operation and erection process of trestles with the help of pylons and cable crane is unique experience. This project has been scheduled to be completed by Dec 2020.

Northern Railway has undertaken the mega-project of constructing a new railway line across the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir between the towns of Udhampur near Jammu and Baramulla on the northwestern edge of the Kashmir Valley.
