Jammu is the largest city in the Jammu Division and the winter capital of state of Jammu and Kashmir in India.It is situated on the banks of the Tawi River.It is administered by a municipal corporation.

The words maa and mata are commonly used in India for mother, and thus are often used in connection with Vaishno Devi. ... Vaishno Devi Mandir is a popular Hindu templededicated to the Hindu Goddess, located in the Trikuta Mountains in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, India.
2.Raghunath Temple:
Jammu is the city of temples and has a number of temples and shrines and the most famous temple if the Raghunath Mandir which is 130 years old.
3.Mubarak Mandi palace:
The architecture of the palace is an elaborate blend of Rajasthani, Mughal and European influences. One of its most spectacular segment, The Shesh Mahal or The Pink Hall houses the Dogra Art Museum which has several miniature paintings and Emperor Shah Jahan's golden bow and arrow, among other interesting things. The oldest building in this Palace complex date to 1824, having seen its own share of time and gathering specimens from all these ages, becoming one itself.

Jammu city is referred to as the Gateway to Heaven, and the impeccable beauty and magnificence of the Bahu Fort surely stand to be a significant contributing factor. Located only 5 km from the central part of the city, the Bahu Fort stands tall and sturdy on the left bank of the Tawi River. Raja Bahucholan constructed this magnificent fort over 3000 years ago, making it one of the oldest monument in the city. The Dogra rulers then made some restorations and renovations to the fort and extended its reach.
6.Amar Mahal Museum:
Constructed by King Raja Amar of Dogra in 1890s, this museum was planned by a French architect and looks like a French chateau with Indian artisans. It was home to the royal family for many years.
7.Shiv Khori:
Shivkhori is a famous cave shrine of Hindus devoted to lord Shiva, situated in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir state in India.
8.Ranbireshwar Temple:
Raghunath Temple consists of a complex of seven Hindu shrines, each with its own Shikhara. It is one of the largest temple complexes of north India. It is located in Jammu in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Situated on the bank of Tawi river, Jammu is the largest city in the Jammu division. Also known as city of temples, Jammu is the focal point for the pilgrims going to Vaisho Devi and Kashmir valley. All my early visits were just to pay my obeisance to Vaishno Devi. However, this time the objective was to explore the local street food. I tied up with Nikhil, a student and a local food enthusiast for the food journey in Jammu.

1. Amar Mahal Palace
The Amar Mahal Palace is a palace in Jammu, in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, India, which has now been converted into a Museum.
2. Bahu Fort
The Bahu Fort is located in Jammu city in state of Jammu and Kashmir. The fort, said to be built by an earlier ruler, was refurbished during the Sikh Empire by Raja Gulab Singh in the 19th century.
3. Raghunath Temple
Raghunath Temple consists of a complex of seven Hindu shrines, each with its own Shikhara. It is one of the largest temple complexes of north India. It is located in Jammu in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
4. Mubarak Mandi Palace
Mubarak Mandi is a palace in Jammu, India. The palace was the royal residence of the maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir from the Dogra dynasty.
5.Manda Zoo
Manda is situated on the right bank of Chenab River in the foothills of Pir Panjal range, 28 km northwest of Jammu, and is considered the northernmost limit of Indus Valley or Harappan Civilisation. Manda zoo is a very small zoo, actually, it is not a zoo, it's deer park in Jammu. Manda Zoo has attractive assembelage of butterflies like Peacock Pansy (Mor Phanfadi in Dogri),Blue Pansy.
6. Dogra Art Museum
Dogra Art Museum, Jammu previously known as the Dogra Art Gallery is a museum of Dogra cultural heritage housed in the Pink Hall of the Mubarak Mandi complex, Jammu, India.
7. Ranbireshwar Temple
The biggest Shiva temple in north India, Ranbireshwar Temple is one of the prime attractions in the picturesque Jammu city. It is a very ancient shrine, located in Shalimar Road near the New Secretariat. Maharaja Ranbir Singh built it in 1883, dedicated to Lord Shiva.
8. Fish House
The Fish Aquarium in Jammu is home to around 400 rare species of fishes. Apart from looking at the fish, tourists can also explore the museum, the multimedia centre, the public gallery, and the laboratory promoting aquatic awareness, that have been established in this place.
9.Gulmarg
The meadow of flowers, which is fondly known as Gulmarg is a famous ski destination in Jammu. Close to the Line of Control between India and Pakistan, this popular spot is located within the Himalayas. This ski spot attracts a number of tourists during the winter, and the beautiful mountains surrounding this area are a sought after site of the Jammu and Kashmir state.
10.Patnitop
The striking hill station known as Patnitop is located about 112kms from the city of Jammu, close to the Chenab River. This hilltop is a destination for trekking and skiing, one that lures tourists in a large number throughout the year. Picnics and trips are taken by visitors on this plateau, and it’s a pleasant location to spend time in. Pony rides and trails of extensive and peaceful walks are an appealing factor.
