Chester Lake Summer Hike, in the SNOW. Kananaskis Country, Alberta
August 17/2019 Summer Hike (Or so I thought)
Today we are in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, in Kananaskis Country, Alberta. We had planned to do a summer hike, but Alberta weather had it's own mind. The trail is 9.7 kilometers out and back, with an elevation gain of 424 meters. The hike is a very easy one, as the elevation is very gradual. The lake is surrounded by beautiful mountains, and just before the lake you will cross a beautiful meadow. It was quite a shock seeing the snow, but this made it beautiful hiking up through the trees. A great hike for the whole family.

Hiking Chester Lake in Kananaskis | Calgary, AB
I got to spend a few days in Calgary Alberta for work. I stayed the weekend so I could get out and explore the great outdoors. We had 2 young dogs with us so we opted to do a light-incline: Chester Lake in Kananaskis. After we drove into Canmore for some drinks and the Bears Paw before returning to Calgary and having a family-like meal of indian food.
See how it all played out:

Chester Lake Snowshoe / Hike, Kananaskis (HD)
Here is our snowshoe / hike of the Chester Lake loop in Kananaskis. There were 7 of us on the trail. The trail in many places didnt require snowshoes as it was fairly packed down from the previous long weekend. Many cool features including the Elephant Rocks up at Chester Lake. Scenes from The Revenant were apparently filmed up here.
Spring at the Upper Kananaskis Lake, Peter Lougheed Provincial Park (4K) | Journey Alberta
I travel out to the Upper Kananaskis Lake located in the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. There my sister and I roasted some hot dogs and perogies over a fire I started with my flint and steel. After that we walked down the still frozen lake shore, and threw rocks across the ice. After we were done at the day use spot, we stopped at the inter-lakes parking lot and hiked part of the trail to the Point Backcountry Campground.

Relaxing Water Films: Kananaskis Country
One of the many scenic drives in the Canadian Rockies is on Highway 40 in Kananaskis Country. This Water Film includes a variety of spots located just off the highway. The music was inspired by this incredible area that gets a lot less tourists than its popular neighbor, Banff National Park. Sit back and relax as you appreciate nature's beauty. Here's the link to the music:
Chester Lake Kananaskis Alberta / Evidence of Grizzlies
We travel to Chester Lake Kananaskis where we discover a lot of evidence of Grizzlies in the area, such as Grizzly diggings. The area is spectacular. On the way out we spot a cow Moose.
