Rent a boat and enjoy the four seasons of Chidori-ga-fuchi!
The green road of Chidori-ga-fuchi is a 700 meters long promenade along the moat of the Imperial Palace. About 140 cherry trees line the green road. It's a popular place in spring for a hanami - cherry blossom viewing.
But actually, Chidori-ga-fuchi isn't just a place for the cherry blossom season. It's a refreshing oasis all year round!
All you have to do is rent a boat. When you walk along the green road, you will see a boat pier where you can rent rowboats and paddle boats (pedalos).
During the hot Japanese summer, a boat trip is perfect for relaxing surrounded by lush trees while feeling a cooling breeze.
In autumn, the colorful leaves of the trees and the many flowers are a beautiful sight: perfect for a walk around the moat. Of course, you can also rent a boat and relax in the soft autumn sun.
Furthermore, a special event is held every summer at the moat.
At the Chiyoda City Floating Lantern Festival people write their wishes on lanterns. After that, some of the participants chosen by lottery are allowed to row a boat and let everyone's lantern float on the moat. The gentle light of the 700 lanterns is a very beautiful and romantic sight! Every year, more and more tourists from everywhere in the world are participating in the festival. Why don't you join them next year? Your wishes might come true!
Chidori-ga-fuchi is a green oasis in the middle of the city.
Bring your friends and loved ones for a relaxing boat trip and enjoy the four seasons at Chidori-ga-fuchi!

Adeyto LIVE ???? Sakura CHERRY BLOSSOM Chidorigafuchi Imperial Palace TOKYO
The Nr1.cherished spot in Tokyo, especially if you get a boat on the river after lining up for more than an hour...The Sakura is in full bloom now, the cherry petals are snowing down already! The promenade goes on for hundreds of meters and after sunset it will be lit up and stunning, best around 17:30-18:00 when the sky is cobalt blue!
A can't-miss spot during cherry blossom season, with flowers reflected in the water of the moat and a tunnel of cherry blossoms over the walking path
Chidorigafuchi is a moat located in the northwest of the Imperial Palace, and it is said the name comes from the moat’s shape, which resembles plovers (chidori in Japanese). The moat is an historic site, and was constructed in the early Edo Period according to the expansion work of the castle, by damming the river. It used to be connected with Hanzo Moat.
Currently, Chidorigafuchi Park is developed next to Chidorigafuchi Pedestrian Path and Hanzo Moat. From late March to early April, the 700 m-long pedestrian path will be covered with the blossoms of about 260 cherry trees of different species, such as Somei-Yoshino and Oshima-Zakura. The trees are lit up at night in the cherry blossom season, and a gorgeous tunnel of flowers creates an especially magical atmosphere. Another well-known viewing spot for cherry blossoms, along with the pedestrian path, is Chidorigafuchi Park. These representative spots for cherry blossom viewing in Tokyo are visited by more than 1 million people every year.
There is also a boat pier in Chidorigafuchi. Looking up at the cherry blossoms from the water surface is particularly inspiring. In addition to the cherry blossom season, Chidorigafuchi can be enjoyed throughout the year, with a different appearance each season.
