Cinema 'Rustaveli' (Tbilisi, Georgia)
From the State Museum, on the right part of the Avenue, we go past the main cinema of the city bearing the name of Rustaveli (built in 1939 by the architect N. Severov). There used to be a building of a guardroom with classical colonnade, abruptly projected out of the construction line. Earlier, on this territory stood a small church of Saint George (Kaloubani which means threshingfloor quarter), which, according to the legend, was built in memory of those children who perished on threshingfloors under the shoes of the horses of Tamerlan hordes. The author of the cinema used the motives of classical architecture in a peculiar way. At the level of the second tier there are sculptures performed by V. Topuridze (four sculptures along the main facade) and Sh. Mikatadze (one sculpture along the side facade).

State Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema in Tbilisi, Georgia
State Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema in Tbilisi, Georgia
Georgian State Museum of Theatre, Music, Cinema and Choreography also referred as Art Palace; is located in Tbilisi, Georgia; Kargareteli Street #6; former Graph Oldenburg's Palace. Museum is open every day, except Monday.
The Georgian State Museum of Theatre, Music, Cinema and Choreography is an important depository for our cultural objects. The museum is housed in one of the most stunning buildings in Tbilisi. It was designed by a well-known architect of the time, Paul Stern, and is a perfect example of gothic and Islamic architecture. A three-storey tower, high merlons, beautifully decorated cornice, open terrace, and steep roofing combine to give the building an unusual look which is most uncharacteristic of the architectural style of Tbilisi.
The history of the construction adds even more charm to the building. In 1882, German Prince Constantine Oldenburg (1850-1906) met a beautiful woman called Agraphina Japaridze in Kutaisi. At the time she was married to Georgian nobleman Dadiani. Prince Oldenburg was so dazzled by her beauty that he decided to ignore her marital status and to confess his love for her. Prince Oldenburg’s confession turned Agraphina Japaridze's head; she quickly forgot her devotion to her husband, and the lovers left Kutaisi and went to settle in Tbilisi. Prince Oldenburg commissioned the building of the beautiful palace for his beloved as a token of his great affection for her. In 1927 the Museum of Theatre, founded by David Arsenishvili (1905-1963)- a famous Georgian public figure (later appointed as the First Director of the Andrei Rublev Museum in Moscow), was moved to the building. To date this is the only museum of its kind in the Caucasus region and it is one that equals the world's leading museums in the wealth of its collection. The museum comprises more than 300,000 objects that provide comprehensive information on the development of Georgian theatre, cinema, circus, folklore, opera, and ballet, as well as providing insight into the lives of eminent figures in respective fields.
Some museum exhibits date back to the classical era: of particular note is the antique mask which was excavated by archeologists in the town of Vani.
The Depository of Manuscripts and Archive Documents contains manuscripts of Ilia Chavchavadze, Akaki Tsereteli, Alexander Kazbegi, Aleksandre Akhmeteli, Kote Marjanishvili, Pyotr Tchaikokovsky, Feodor Chaliapin, and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
Kept at the museum are the personal archives of great Georgian composers Dimitri Arakishvili, Zakaria Paliashvili, Vano Sarajishvili, playwright and founder of modern Georgian theatre Giorgi Eristavi, and film director and screenwriter Mikheil Chiaureli, as well as plays and translations of William Shakespeare into Georgian by Ivane Machabeli.
The Depository of Books contains rare editions from the 17th to 19th centuries. Gramophone records, posters, and theatre and film costumes are also preserved.
The Depository of Photos and Negatives includes unique materials of such prominent films as: Jim Shvante, Mamluk, and Giorgi Saakadze.
The Depository of Fine Arts has a rich collection of 16th- and 17th-century Persian miniatures, 18th-century French engravings, and the best examples of the old style of Tbilisi painting. The museum boasts the paintings and graphics of Léon Bakst, Alexander Benua, Fernand Liege, David Kakabadze, Lado Gudiashvili, Elene Akhvlediani, Peter Otskheli, and Irakli Parjiani.

2-Day Road-Trip to mountains of North Georgia (Europe) from Tbilisi
I made a short film about a short solo trip up from the Georgian capital Tbilisi into the mountains via Mtskheta, Ananuri, Gauduri and Stepantsminda.
I travelled on May 6th-7th, 2019.
I am new to film-making and know this is fairly over-dramatized, with the music, etc, but I had fun, and look forward to making more films/vlogs.
Let me know what you think.

Sex Tourism Blights Georgian Black Sea Resort
Locals say their complaints are ignored.
By IWPR team in Georgia
The Georgian resort of Gonio has been taken over by the sex trade, and complaints by residents have gone largely unheard.
The Black Sea village has attracted large numbers of women, many from Central Asia, who work in bars and clubs with a clientele mainly from nearby Turkey.
People in the area say the loud music from night clubs stops them sleeping, while the seedy clubs and hotels have put off the holidaymakers who used to come here for the summer break.
No one wants to spend their holidays here because of those trucks, the Turks, and the prostitution. There's shouting, fighting and cars sounding their horns, one local man told IWPR.
The village is administratively part of the port city Batumi, whose mayor Robert Chkhaidze has visited but only promised to stop the loud music.
Geno Mgeladze of the Institute of Democracy has tried to investigate allegations that women are subjected to coercion and violence, but has found it difficult because they are reluctant to speak out.
They said in confidence that their handlers took away their passports by force, although they wouldn't confirm that on the record. They don't trust anyone and they're afraid of losing their jobs or being deported, he said.

SKIING IN GUDAURI + OVERNIGHT SLEEPER TRAIN EXPERIENCE (Georgia to Armenia)
***********************************************
♡ PLEASE WATCH IN HD ♡
***********************************************
We stayed in GUDAURI for 3 DAYS to fully enjoy our first snow experience TOGETHER.
Gudauri (Georgian: გუდაური) is a ski resort located on the south-facing plateau of The Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia.
We never thought skiing would be so exhausting that we had to take off our jackets because we were sweating like crazy! We had so much fun, though! Hahahaha!
Also, we got to experience our first OVERNIGHT SLEEPER TRAIN.
We availed First Class tickets to have a private cabin.
Second and Third class cabins are for sharing.
The fare is around 115 laris in 1st class sleeper, 85 laris in a 2nd class sleeper, or 66 laris in a 3rd class sleeper.

Rike Park - Tbilisi, Georgia ????????
Rike Park is the only park in the centre of Tbilisi. It sits near the old town and has some interesting architecture.
One of the drawbacks of Tbilisi is the lack of parks, especially in the centre. Former president Mikheil Saakashvili tried to improve things by building a new green area in the centre.
He also seemed to like commissioning unusual buildings, such as the Bridge of Peace and the odd looking Concert hall and exhibition centre. The latter were never completed, bit of a waste really.
Anyway it's a colourful place, worth checking out on your visit to the city. This video was shot in the winter, I imagine it's much more colourful in the summer.

The wonders of Mtskheta, Georgia
Mtskheta is one of the oldest cities in Georgia, and is a former capital city. It’s just 20km north of Tbilisi, and definitely worth your time.
From the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD, Mtskheta was the capital city of the Kingdom of Iberia. Since 1994, it’s been protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The city is known for the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and the Jvari Monastery, which sits on top of a nearby mountain and offers spectacular views over the river and city below.
The population is around 8000 people so it’s not a very large city, but it is a wonderful place to go for a day trip from Tbilisi.
To get to the Jvari Monastery, you need to find a taxi and negotiate a price. More likely, they will approach you.
