Our visit Poznań travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide, top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day including visiting castles, churches and museums. We also cover off-the-beaten-path outdoor activities you won't find in a typical Poznań tourism brochure, Poznań itinerary or Poznań, Poland city tour.
10 Things to do in Poznań, Poland Travel Guide script:
Eager to explore Poznan, our first stop of the day was the Old Market Square, which is a sight to behold. As soon as we turned the street from our apartment, we were greeted with the Old Town Hall.
The top attraction here is a row of buildings known as the Merchant Houses. They stand shoulder to shoulder and are painted in different patterns, adding a bright splash of colour to the town.
The Royal Castle dates back to 1249, though if you think it looks rather new, that’s because it was mostly destroyed during WW2 and it had to be rebuilt. After paying for our tickets, we made a beeline straight for the tower, to enjoy some views of Poznan.
After visiting the castle, we did some wandering around the Old Town and ended up at the Former Jesuit College. This is where young people were educated in theology and philosophy.
Today the college houses the City Council, so we couldn’t really tour the place, but they do have a nice courtyard and a cafe for visitors.
Another thing to do in Poznan is visit Fara Poznanska, a beautiful Baroque church located right next to the Former Jesuit College. We arrived just as they were setting up for the weekly concert, so we sat down for a bit of music.
From there, we walked west of the Old Town, where things have more of a modern look. We saw the Fontana Wolnosh-chi Wolności, had a quick peek inside the Imperial Castle, and we also discovered that Polish people have a big love for ice cream.
We later googled Kolorowa and discovered that it’s the best ice cream shop in Poznan, so maybe we should’ve stood in line!
After visiting Cathedral Island, we went past Śródka, which is a really cool neighbourhood with lots of street art. We then had a little break by Lake Malta, which looked to be a popular weekend spot.
Another cool thing to do in Poznan is to visit KontenerArt, which is part urban beach, outdoor bar, art space, children’s playground, food cart central, and herb and spice garden. This was an unexpected find and it was really nice to see people of all ages enjoying this space.
On a rainy afternoon, we paid a quick visit to Poznan’s Archaeological Museum. Admittedly, it’s mostly geared towards children, but it was a fun way to stay dry.
And that’s a wrap for our quick travel guide to Poznan! We hope this video gave you a few ideas of things to do around town on your visit. If there are any other things to do in Poznan that you think should be on this list, feel free to share those with fellow travellers. Happy travels and until next time!
This is part of our Travel in Poland video series showcasing Polish food, Polish culture and Polish cuisine.

HELLO POZNAŃ! Canadians travel to Poland.
We spend our first full day in Poland exploring the beautiful city of Poznań. We start out at the Old Town Market Square seeing the fountains, Merchant’s Row and then Town Hall to see the the fightings goats at noon. We then make our way through Park Cytadela to visit old military remnants and view the sculpture called The Unrecognized. Next we head to Cathedral Island and to the area called Śródka for some Polish Dumplings called Pierogis. Finally we make our way back to Old Town by walking along the riverbank or the Warta River.

Poznań is a city on the Warta River in western Poland. It’s known for universities as well as its old town, with Renaissance-style buildings in Old Market Square.
Poznan was once the capital of Poland and is still the capital of the Wielkopolska region. Poznan lies midway between Berlin and Warsaw, which has helped make it an important town for centuries. Badly damaged in World War II, the city (especially its Old Town) has been beautifully restored. The huge Old Town Square (Stary Rynek) is one of Europe’s nicest, and is lined by fabulous historic attractions, restaurants and nightlife. The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul is Poland’s oldest cathedral.
The most impressive structure on the Main Square has to be the deliciously elaborate Town Hall at its centre. First erected in the early 14th century, it truly flowered in mid-1500s when Italian architect Giovanni Quadro of Lugano added the Renaissance loggia, attic, and classical tower, earning the structure acclaim as “the most beautiful Renaissance town hall north of the Alps”.
Built in the same year, the Cathedral was repeatedly damaged by natural and building disasters and wars. Now it is a three-aisle Gothic basilica with pre-Romanesque and Romanesque relics, surrounded by a semicircle of chapels.
The Warta is the second longest river lying entirely in Poland; its basin of 21,084 square miles (54,607 square km) makes it the third largest in Poland. About half its length, from Kostrzyn to Konin, is navigable. The Warta drops 1,224 feet (373 m) from its headwaters to its mouth. The river drains a largely agricultural area of the Polish plain. Częstochowa, Konin, Poznań, and Gorzów Wielkopolski are major cities along its course.

Walking in POZNAN / Poland around the Old Town - 4K 60fps (UHD)
On this sunny winter day we walk from Poznan's Old Town square (Stary Rynek) around the Town Hall, churches and up to the Royal Castle. Then we head out of the Old Town for some parks and monuments before heading back via the Półwiejska pedestrian street.
With a big student population Poznan enjoys good nightlife. The city itself is nice for a walk or jogging along the Warta river which I may do again in summer.
Not a vlog, no talking or intrusive faces - just a walking tour in a cool Polish city enjoying the sun on this beautiful winter day.

This is a video I made the one day in Poznan I had to explore.
I was surprised by how beautiful the city was. There are so many lovely and quaint small towns throughout Poland that I don't think I'll ever be able to visit them all.
Although I only had a few days in Poznan I immediately fell in love with the city and since my trip I've really wanted to go back.
There are a ton of different things to do in Poznan and it's arguably one of the most beautiful small towns in Poland.
Getting to Poznan is really easy, especially with Polski Bus, and it's easily accessible from Krakow and Warsaw as well as other smaller towns Gdansk and Wroclaw.
Poznan is one of my favorite places in Poland so far and I highly recommend you check it out.

Travel Diary_Palazzo Rosso Hotel, Poznan, Poland
Welcome to another travel diary video.
Please join me on my tour of Palazzo Rosso Hotel, located in Poznan, a well-known and prominent city of western Poland.
Hotel Palazzo Rosso is a boutique hotel set in a renovated historical building in the center of the Old town in Poznań (The Old Market Square is 500 feet away.) This property also has one of the top-rated locations in Poznań! According to the independent reviews, guests are happier about it compared to other properties in the area and I can vouch for that :)
I visited this charming place in August 2018 and stayed there for two nights.
I hope you'll enjoy the video :))
