City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia
The City of Arts and Sciences is an entertainment-based cultural and architectural complex in the city of Valencia, Spain. It is the most important modern tourist destination in the city of Valencia.
The City of Arts and Sciences is situated at the end of the former riverbed of the river Turia, which was drained and rerouted after a catastrophic flood in 1957. The old riverbed was turned into a picturesque sunken park.
Designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, the project underwent the first stages of construction in July 1996 and the finished city was inaugurated April 16, 1998 with the opening of L'Hemisfèric. The last great component of the City of Arts and Sciences, El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, was presented on October 9, 2005, Valencian Community Day.
Tish Barberá entrusted the creation of a team that articulated the project and that visited spaces with similar characteristics in Munich, Canada and London, to devise a project of evident pedagogical appearance. The City of the Sciences was the name that the autonomous government gave to the initiative, and plans included a 370m high communications tower, which would have been the third highest one in the world at that time; a planetarium; and the museum of science. The total price of the works was estimated to be about 25,000 million pesetas.
In May 1991, the council approved the transfer of lands. Four months later the project was presented, designed by Santiago Calatrava. Construction began by the end of 1994. The team that had designed the museum did not see eye to eye with the form in which Santiago Calatrava conceived the building. Therefore, a couple of changes were made.

City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia Spain - RARE footage of Valencia Science Park
The most amazing venue to have lunch or coffee. We did see clip here
The architect is Salvador Calatrava . His futuristic designs defy the laws of physics. His creations range from bridges, pavilions and skyscrapers and are scattered across the world, from Malmö to Milwaukee, Rio de Janiero to Doha. The eastern section of the Turia Riverbed is a gigantic sandbox known as the Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias, in which the architect was given free rein to do anything he wanted… and apparently what he wanted to do was go crazy. The result is breathtaking

The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, Spain | Travel Vlog Series
Hi you,
I hope you're having a wonderful Sunday :).
As promised here is part 4 of my travel series in Valencia, Spain.
It's a short video showing the City of Arts and Sciences (Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias). It's one of the 12 Treasures of Spain and has a beautiful architecture.
FYI: In case you where wondering the white cone shaped in the video, has a lift within it.
*Most of the footage I had, was either lost or too shaky and blurry which explains why we have less than 10 minutes for our Day 4 in Valencia, Spain Travel Series. But Day 5 which will be up by or on Friday is about 18-20 minutes so it will make up for the shortness of this video ;).

Time-Lapse Video of The City Of Arts and Science in Valencia, Spain
This little device:
I own makes it so incredibly easy to take amazing time-lapse videos, something you couldn't pull off that easily with conventional cameras.
So, one early summer evening I biked down Valencia's City of Arts and Science by the star architect Santiago Calatrava, who is a genius in creating beautiful forms but not so much in creating functional spaces. But who needs functionality if you have buildings like these to look at.
The last two sequences of the video are the most beautiful shots, with clouds going in different directions while the sky turns golden, reflecting on the water surface.
