Top Five Tacos in Los Cabos
| Best Tacos in Cabo San Lucas
The taco is Mexico’s biggest contribution to world cuisine, a tortilla-wrapped treat loved by many. Each of the country’s regions has its specialties. Throughout Los Cabos, this translates to plenty of fresh local seafood, plus flavours from the mainland and north imported by the area’s many transplants. Here are our nominees for the five best tacos in Los Cabos.
La Lupita Taco & Mezcal:
La Lupita offers some of the most gourmet tacos to be found. Located in the midst of San José del Cabo historic Distrito del Arte, crowds spill out the door waiting for a chance to try tacos like the Drunken Barbacoa, made with lamb or beef cooked in a pit covered with maguey leaves.
Tacos y Mariscos Los Claros:
The first food most people think of in connection with California is the fish taco, a symbol as regionally representative as the surfboard or the custom Jeep. In Los Cabos, the undisputed king of seafood tacos is Los Claros.
Las Guacamayas:
The most traditional of tacos is the taco al pastor being served at places such as Las Guacamayas; imagine pineapple skewered just above spit-grilled pork, its juices dripping down to further flavor and tenderize the meat before it is expertly sliced off into corn tortillas.
Tacos Gardenias:
Tacos Gardenias is a laid-back, beach adjacent eatery which offers a legion of delicious taco options, from fish and shrimp to chicken, roasted pork and cactus sourced nopales.
Sancho’s:
At Sancho’s, the specialty of the house is the hard-shell Pink Taco. Generously layered with lettuce topped beef, fish or shrimp, and then slathered in sour cream and creamy processed cheese.
Those are our suggestions, anyway… Did any of your top 5 make the cut? Please let us know!
And remember: DREAM, LiVE, DiSCOVER LOS CABOS at CaboViVO.

THINGS TO DO IN CABO!!! Top Cabo Hotels, Restaurants & Activities/CABO HOT SPOTS!
WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU WENT TO CABO? I HADN’T BEEN FOR YEARS...AND WOW! HAS THE MEXICAN BEACH CITY COME ALONG WAY IN THE LAST DECADE. AND I CAN SAY WITH A LOT OF CONFIDENCE THAT CABO HAS SOMETHING FOR YOU--WHETHER YOU’VE BEEN THERE BEFORE OR IT’S YOUR FIRST TIME.
ALOHA, I’M KRISTIN MALIA
AND I HOPE YOU STAY WITH ME AS I HIGHLIGHT SOME OF THE BEST PLACES THIS MEXICAN HOT SPOT HAS TO OFFER!
THE LOS CABOS MUNICIPALITY CATERS TO THE MASSES WITH EVERYTHING FROM HIGH END LUXURY LODGING AND DINING TO OCEAN ACTIVITIES AND CULTURAL MUST-SEES. BUT OVER THE LAST DECADE OR SO LOS CABOS HAS REALLY STEPPED UP IT’S GAME.
ON MY MOST RECENT TRIP WE STAYED AT THE HILTON LOS CABOS--IN A RESORT TOWN SPANNING FOR MILES--SMACK DAB IN THE MIDDLE OF CABO SAN LUCAS AND SAN JOSE DEL CABO. THE AREA IS PRISTINE AND AS YOU DRIVE ALONG THE COAST YOU CAN SEE A LOT OF CONSTRUCTION WHICH TELLS ME THINGS ARE ONLY GETTING BETTER.
THERE’S THE WESTIN--THE MONTAGE--THE 4 SEASONS AND MORE BUT THE HILTON LOS CABOS IS THE ONLY RESORT ALONG THE CORRIDOR THAT HAS A SWIMMING BEACH.
FEEL LIKE STAYING ON LAND? NO PROBLEM, THERE ARE LOTS OF ACTIVITIES TO CHOOSE FROM:
THE SPA OF COURSE--THAT’S AN ACTIVITY, RIGHT--THERE ARE MANY TOP OF THE LINE FACILITIES OFFERING COUPLES MASSAGES, MANIS & PEDI’S, FACIALS AND MORE.
HORSEBACK RIDING IS A NICE WAY TO RELAX AND TAKE IN THE VIEW-ESPECIALLY AROUND SUNSET
THERE’S GOLF...TENNIS...
AND THERE ARE SOME GREAT FOOD OPTIONS
ONE OF MY FAVORITE MEALS WAS RIGHT AT THE HOTEL.
LOOKING TO VENTURE OUT FOR A LITTLE VARIETY? IF SO YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT THE LOCAL MERCADO. IT’S KIND OF LIKE A FANCY FOOD COURT WITH EVERYTHING FROM LOCAL CUISINE TO SUSHI AND DRINKS
IF YOU YOU GET THE CHANCE, DON’T MISS AN OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT A SPOT EVERYONE RAVES ABOUT--FLORA FARMS. I’M SO BUMMED I DIDN’T GET THERE. IF YOU’VE BEEN LET ME KNOW HOW YOU LIKED IT IN THE COMMENTS BELOW.
FLORA FARMS IS A FULLY FUNCTIONING FARM IN THE FOOTHILLS OF THE SIERRA DE LA LAGUNA MOUNTAINS IN SAN JOSE DEL CABO. THIS SANCTUARY IS JUST A MILE FROM THE SEA OF CORTEZ AND THE PUERTO LOS CABOS MARINA. THEY ALSO HAVE A NEWLY OPENED SPA!!! AND THEY OFFER COOKING CLASSES AND OTHER FUN STUFF. PLAN AHEAD IF YOU WANT TO VISIT THIS PLACE OR ELSE YOU’LL MISS IT LIKE I DID.
IF YOU TAKE A TRIP TO LOS CABOS, YOU HAVE TO VENTURE OUT TO CABO SAN LUCAS (I MUST ADMIT I HAVEN’T BEEN THERE SINCE COLLEGE AND IT IS NOT THE SAME), THERE ARE STILL ENDLESS BARS AND RESTAURANTS THAT TOURISTS TRAVEL FOR MILES TO SEE.
BUT GETTING OUT ON THE WATER IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST AND THE #1 REASON FOR THAT IN MY BOOK...IS PANCHO!!! THE WORLD FAMOUS SEA LION!!!
ONE WAY TO SEE THIS UNDERWATER STAR IS BY TAKING A BOAT TOUR AROUND THE ARCH...THE ARCH OF CABO SAN LUCAS, IS A DISTINCTIVE ROCK FORMATION AT THE SOUTHERN TIP OF CABO SAN LUCAS. AND IT’S A SPECIAL SPOT, BECAUSE RIGHT HERE IS WHERE THE PACIFIC OCEAN BECOMES THE GULF OF CALIFORNIA. Error (need to use video)
IF IT’S BEACH TIME YOU’RE LOOKING FOR, LOVERS BEACH--LOCATED ON THE SEA OF CORTEZ SIDE OF LAND’S END IS JUST A WATER TAXI AWAY. THERE’S A LOT OF ACTION ON LOVERS BEACH SO IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE QUIET YOU MAY WANT TO VENTURE OVER TO DIVORCE BEACH LOCATED ON THE PACIFIC SIDE.
THE LIST OF THINGS TO DO IN WHILE IN CABO IS LONG SO ASK YOUR HOTEL CONCIERGE AND THE LOCAL STAFF WHAT THEY RECOMMEND. IT’S HELPFUL TO CHECK OUT ONLINE REVIEWS BEFORE PULLING THE TRIGGER JUST TO MAKE SURE WHAT’S SUGGESTED IS SOMETHING FOR YOU.
SO THERE YOU HAVE IT! ONE MORE TIP IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR A DEAL AND YOU’RE A MEMBER OF AAA OR COSTCO---CHECK WITH THEM BEFORE BOOKING ANYTHING. --MY FAMILY RECENTLY DID THIS AND DECIDED TO TAKE A TRIP WITHOUT ME-- THEIR TRAVEL DEPARTMENTS CAN HELP YOU FINE TUNE YOUR ITINERARY SO YOU’RE NOT SOLELY DEPENDENT ON WEB INFO ONLY. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT. IF YOU HAVE ANY TRAVEL TIPS OF YOUR OWN PLEASE SHARE THEM IN THE COMMENTS BELOW.

7 Things to do in Los Cabos
Los Cabos has a ton of new experiential hotels and activities that will appeal to a range of personality types. Here are my top 7 things to see and do in Los Cabos.
Take a Cooking Class at Los Tamarindos
Los Tamarindos is a 17-acre organic farm and restaurant tucked away in San José del Cabo. Get your hands dirty and take a four-hour cooking class here, which starts in the garden and ends at the dinner table. It includes a lesson in local delicacies and delicious, hand-crafted cocktails—because cooking is always easier with booze.
Attend the Art Walk in San José Del Cabo
Each Thursday night, San José Del Cabo plies art and design lovers with tequila and light bites as they interact with artists and gallery owners. Unlike a lot of art walks, the art here is actually pretty good, ranging from highly conceptual to just plain fun. The weekly event is free to all and one of the best nights out in San José.
Hit the Floating Margarita Bar at Chileno Bay
It’s five o’clock somewhere and that somewhere is the brand-new Chileno Bay Resort & Residences. When you hear the bell clanging, that means the floating margarita bar is open for business. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the signature margarita made with silver tequila and black lava salt.
Swim With Whale Sharks in La Paz
Whale sharks gather in the Sea of Cortez from August to May in order to gorge on plankton and enjoy the warm waters of Baja California Sur. Cabo Adventures operates a full-day tour that brings guests from Los Cabos to La Paz, Mexico, so that they can swim alongside these gentle giants.
Visit El Mercado
El Mercado is a new, under-the-radar food hall in San Jose Del Cabo serving local treats and eats. Stop by for a bite on your way to the airport, since it will most likely be on your way.
Stay at Hotel El Ganzo
Hotel El Ganzo is probably the funkiest hotel in all of Los Cabos. Each month, artists and musicians come for a residency where they either leave their mark with a piece of art or record a song in the hotel’s subterranean studio. The hotel also lends out bikes so that guests can take a scenic ride along the marina, which is also lined with artwork and sculptures.
Get Dinner at Sunset Mona Lisa
There is no better place to watch the sunset in Los Cabos than Sunset Mona Lisa, an Italian restaurant carved into the cliffs of Cabo San Lucas. It’s one of few places where you can see both the sunset and the region’s famous rock formation, El Arco. This ultra-romantic, terraced restaurant is the perfect place to bring that special someone and take in the beauty of Baja California Sur.

Maria Corona Restaurant - Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, Mexico
For more info visit:
Our grandma's, Mrs. Maria Corona, born in 1916 in Mexico City, traditional recipes along with her cooking secrets as they've been handed down from generation to generation. Our ground beef picadillo has almonds, raisins and cumin, the way it was made back then. We make our mole by hand, from the toasting of the chiles to the grinding on f the almonds. Our tortillas are handmade and cooked on a comal, and our salsas are handmade in a traditional stone molcajete... everything done in the purest of Mexican cooking tradition.
Cooking Class Dinner | Chef Jeanna DeMarco | Cabo San Lucas | KT Morgan | Cabos Finest
Our first episode of Cabos Finest Foodies, a great evening to learn and enjoy Sicilian cooking from guest chef Jeanna DeMarco of Napa. What a treat to have an Italian born chef trained at the Culinary Institute of America here on a guest appearance in Los Cabos!
And to grace our home with her time and talents, we and our friends were blessed to indulge in learning hands on and dining on the fruits of our labors.

Acre Farm Restaurant | Hotel | Cabos Finest | KT Morgan | Sandra Morgan | Los Cabos Real Estate
What started as a mango farm on 25 acres in the heart of San Jose farmland, Acre has evolved into a restaurant, bar, hotel and events center. Upon arrival, the walk to the restaurant is through lush vegetation and canopies of palms, mangos, and centuries-old Cardon cactus. The modern concrete design of the place blends wonderfully with the farm to table restaurant. We dined on their brunch menu at the bar area. We were greeted by the mascot Burrito, a recent rescued Burro who thinks he is a puppy. Oakley was not too sure about that description and kept a watchful eye. The open kitchen gives diners a show. These chefs are blessed with freshly grown ingredients and utilize a wood fired bbq.
The bar is a world unto itself with a tasting room for the house tequila. The mixologists have award winning drinks and there is no lack of variety. We chose the Ojo Rojos to go with our brunch. The simple salad was a delight with fresh arugula, radishes and tomato picked that morning at the farm, the ricotta cheese was also hand made fresh and the beet crostini gave it a nice crunch. I chose the hearty Bacon Ranch Fried Chicken Sammy with sweet potatoes chips. Both were delicious. The farm to table concept is alive and well in this area with both Flora Farms and Tamarindo restaurants close by.
Team Cabos Finest always enjoy doing restaurant reviews and this was another chance to spend some time at this amazing destination. The grounds include the farm, pool area, events lawn, fire pits, bocci ball, trail systems throughout the grounds and hotel tree-houses. The Acre animal family includes peacocks, roosters, Nigerian dwarf goats, puppies needing a home, and don’t forget Burrito the burro.
The tree-houses are rustic meets modern with walls constructed of locally used branches. These sit high up off the ground with nice intimacy and privacy. We spoke to some couples who were enjoying their stay and all seemed thrilled with this unique hotel concept. Nightly rates start at $275. Each tree-house has a king sized bed, a small bathroom, outdoor shower, wi-if and patio overlooking the grounds. Stays include daily two-course breakfast, morning yoga, and free rein to enjoy all the ever-growing grounds have to offer.
The restaurant and bar are the centers of attention and the heart of acre. The staff are all smiles and happy to make your meal experience. Savor it in Chef Luzande’s food, a marriage of global influences and local ingredients that evolves with the seasons. Taste it in their innovative cocktail program, with award-winning concoctions.
Overall I would describe the time at Acre as relaxed but refined. We left feeling happy and content and will surely return for another tasty meal.
