Cycling On The Roof Of The World (Lhasa to Kathmandu)
Fourteen years ago I took part in a charity cycle ride from Llhasa ,the capital of Tibet to Kathmandu in Nepal. I took a video camera along for the ride and filmed what I could. This was my first attempt to make a travel documentary so please forgive the fact that there is far to much footage of me and not enough of the scenery.I think that the friendship highway has since been paved in its entirety, whereas when I rode it ,it was still all dirt.

Lhasa to Kathmandu by Bike
For many cyclists the chance to ride their bike from Lhasa to Kathmandu, crossing the Himalayas and stopping off at Everest Base Camp would be a dream come true.
In the office we have a dedicated team of cyclists and earlier this year, we sent Exodus' Leader Operations Manager, Olly Townsend, to test out this trip for us. Olly is a confirmed mountain biker and normally views roads solely as a means to get to the next trail, but he came back from this trip converted to road cycling as a way to see the world!
Olly's film captures some of the highlights of this incredible trip and will hopefully give you some inspiration in where to book next year!
