Crowbar Lake Hiking - Halifax, Nova Scotia

This challenging, technical hike has over 18km of trails, winding up, down and through a huge wilderness reserve. This particular hike was only a small section of the entire system, as we didn't get started until late in the day. Despite the challenging terrain and elevations, it is a joy to hike due to the unspoiled nature throughout. For more information on this hike, visit:

Crowbar Lake Hiking Trail

Located on the Myra Rd in Porters Lake, Nova Scotia and by far the most challenging Trails I have done so far.
Dig out your BandAids!!
We had done the 1st 2 loops in the early spring when it was Icy and very slippery. I loved how challenging the trail was and couldnt wait to get back when the ice was gone and explore the next part of the trail system.
That is the plan in this video....
What we did not expect was How Challenging this trail was Even without the ice!!

There are a total of 4 Loop Trails that go Up and Down constantly. We managed over 28000 steps and 219 Floors per my fitbit data

I recommend this Trail for any avid Hikers looking for a beautiful and Challenging Hike in the Halifax Area.

Dollar Lake, Nova Scotia

We head out in search of a Cave and some waterfalls at Dollar Lake Provincial Park. Take 102 from Halifax to Exit 5a, behind the Airport towards Old Guysborough Rd and follow signs to Dollar Lake.
This was a tough hike for us for a few reasons. But a hike is still a hike, enjoying the outdoors, nature .....and some exercise.

One of my friends just received his brand new ATV and wanted to go for a ride to check out the local trails - So we spent a morning late in September going around the trails near Beaver Bank, Enfield, Renfrew, and up towards Rawdon.

Finally I have converted from Copycat cd and uploaded the home movie originally made by Don Henderson in the Village of Brookfield, at Shortts Lake and the horse and buggy in Brentwood, Nova Scotia.
