University of North Georgia Dahlonega Campus Tour
UNG’s Dahlonega Campus is readily recognized by the gold-covered steeple of the administration building, Price Memorial Hall which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The town is known widely for its historic town square embellished by art galleries, shops and restaurants. Students easily walk to nearby restaurants, shops, banks, and churches.
This picturesque community, about an hour north of metro Atlanta, is the home of the first major gold rush in the nation and a popular tourist attraction nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With stunning waterfalls surrounded by lush forests inhabited by abundant wildlife, the north Georgia region draws visitors who enjoy hiking, mountain climbing, rafting, canoeing, and camping.

Helton Creek Falls | Dahlonega, Ga
Helton Creek Falls located near Blairsville and Dahlonega, GA. It's a great morning hike if you are nearby. The gravel road was in good-great condition and we were able to make it in the Nissan Altima. Take your time and go slowly over the road ripples.
This place would be great during the summer.

Frogtown Cellars - Dahlonega GA
#frogtowncellars #georgiavineyards #georgiawine There are a number of vineyards throughout Georgia. Several have been a staple for the area and Frogtown Cellars is one of these. Entering this well established winemaker, you are struck by the beauty of both the vast vineyards as well as its amazing tasting room and restaurant. You can't help but notice the mature vineyards as they stretch throughout the rolling hills with the mountain peaks in the distance. You just walk outside in one of those wow moments. Then you step inside the tasting room and just stop. The two-story post and beam structure is just something to behold.
But, we came to taste wine. And Frogtown Cellars has great wine. I'll admit, I was a bit of wine snob for a while, thinking the only wine one should drink should be made from a single grape variety. I was wrong. First visiting Serenity Vineyards another North Georgia wine maker who makes great Italian bends, I realized there's another whole world to wine. Frogtown too is a winemaker who has taken the blending of wines to an art from. My favorite from the day was their 404 5th Reload, a delicious red blend.
One last point about wine tasting and specifically Frogtown Cellars. It should be fun. You want to feel welcome. And equally important, you want to be served by someone who has knowledge about their wines. Frogtown hit all three. Todd made our tasting such an enjoyable experience and shared an abundance about the wine and vineyard.
So treat both your eyes and your taste buds to Frogtown Cellars. Another great North Georgia Vineyard you'll want to add to your travel destinations.

Dick’s Creek Falls - Dahlonega
Note:
This video is raw with not editing and audio may not be great neither. This video is intended for you to have an idea of the place and area, and for you to decide or not to make plans to explore it yourself or get in touch with me to put a group together and all of us have fun.
This was a very nice spot. Lot of people stops here in warm weather to have some fun and splash.
The water is crystal clear (Not at the time when this pictures were taken. Several storm systems were affecting some areas in the mountains).
To reach the falls go north from Dahlonega 13.7 miles on US19 to Mt. Pisgah Church Road (one half mile before reaching the junction of US19 and US129 at Turner's Corner) marked by a US Forest Service sign indicating Waters Creek Campground. Turn left on this road and go 2.6 miles to the falls which will be on the left. This falls and the shoals above it are popular for wading and sunning in the summer, however care should be exercised when walking on the slippery rocks and under no circumstances should one dive into the pools.
If you are truly adventurous and want to scramble straight up a mountain to see Blood Creek Falls.
