Dali University Medical College
Dali University Medical College, dali.edu.cn, is a multi disciplinary comprehensive university run by the Yunnan provincial government.
It has 3 campuses; South Renmin Road Campus, Hehua campus anf The Ancient Town Campus, all located within the city of Dali covering a total area of 3,00,000 sq.mt.
The beautiful and serene environs provide an ideal sowing ground for the pursuit of academic excellence. Besides, the scenery of Dali is considered to be second to none in China.
In the year 2005 a special International MBBS Program was launched as a joint program between Dali University and Saraswati Online.com heralding a new age in Sino Indian relations The curriculum follows the pattern of the MCI and will take full advantage of the immense infrastructure provided by the college.
More than 165 students of Dali from India have passed the MCI Screening test (FMG examinations conducted by the National Board of Examinations) and are now full fledged medical practitioners and proud members of the academic fraternity.
The college is under the provincial government of Yunnan and is listed in the World Health Organisation Medical Directory(WHO) as well as the International Medical Education Directory (IMED). It is also enlisted with the Medical Council of India (MCI).

On the approval of China’s Ministry of Education in June 2001, Dali University 大理大学 ( was established in October 2001 as a result of the amalgamation of four colleges: Dali Medical College, Dali Teachers College, Dali Radio and Television College and Dali College of Industry, which had a history of more than 30 years. Now the university has 16 colleges, offering 53 bachelor and 28 master degree programs in liberal arts, science, medical science, engineering, education, economics, agriculture, law, management and art. The University is located in Dali, which boasts its long history and tradition.

In Dali you can hike the Cloud Traveller's Path, visit the Zhonghe Temple, take the Cangshan Cable Car, bike around the Erhai Lake and climb the Jizu Mountain. Unfortunately it was raining cats and dogs. We only take a walk through the Old City of Dali and visited the Chongsheng Temple to see the world famous three Pagodas.
Good shelters for the rain are the Bakery88 and Tin Tin Belgian Waffles.
