Amazing Turkish Food and Attractions in Istanbul - Istanbul, Turkey, Travel Guide!

Day 9: Istanbul, Turkey - This was a day of sightseeing at some of the most famous attractions in Istanbul that I’ve wanted to visit my entire life including the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. And the read highlight of the day for me was the incredible Turkish food, especially the kebabs.
Museum Pass Istanbul - 85 TRY ($28.88) - Before getting started with the things we did in this video, I purchased a Museum Pass for Istanbul, which granted me access to a few of the attractions without having to stand in line. I’m not sure if I really saved much money, but it did save time.
2:00 Sultan Ahmet Camii (Blue Mosque) - Our first stop of the day in this attractions in Istanbul video was the Sultan Ahmet Camii, which is commonly known as the Blue Mosque due to its blue tiles on the inside. We actually arrived a little too early in the morning, so they were not open yet, so we walked around the Hippodrome of Constantinople for a few minutes. When the Blue Mosque opened, we went inside. Both inside and outside are incredible to see.
5:37 Hagia Sophia - One of the most famous pieces of architecture in all of Istanbul and one of the most famous attractions is Hagia Sophia. It started off as a church, later became a mosque, and now it’s an official museum. After entering, you can walk around the main room, but the highlight of visiting Hagia Sophia for me was walking up to the upper galleries for some amazing views from above.
8:24 Topkapi Palace - Finally, one more of the most famous attractions in Istanbul, and located right in the same area as Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque is Topkapi Palace, which was an Ottoman Palace. You can walk around the gardens and palace structures, which are now galleries. I especially enjoyed the Imperial Harem, which was a section of the palace reserved for women, and the best preserved area of the palace.
11:25 Sehzade Erzurum Cag Kebab (Şehzade Cağ Kebap) - There are many different types of Turkish food, and cag kebab is a type of kebab from Erzurum in Eastern Turkey. According some some men I met while eating the amazing kebabs, this is the best restaurant for cag kebab in all of Istanbul. The type of kebab is made from lamb, and instead of being on a vertical skewer like other types of kebabs, it’s grilled on a horizontal skewer. The meat is cooked with wood fire, and slice off onto smaller skewers to be served. If you get a chance to try cag kebab, it’s an absolutely stunning Turkish food. The entire meal was delicious, but the best part was meeting the owner of Sehzade Erzurum Cag Kebab and eating a slice of the meat right off the roll hot and fresh. Out entire meal cost 85 TL ($28.88).
20:34 Basilica Cistern - 20 TRY ($6.80) - Arter the amazing Turkish food lunch, we headed over to see the Basilica cistern, one of many underground cisterns in Istanbul. It was interesting to see. We then headed to the hotel for a rest, and then went out again for dinner.
23:27 Dinner at Balkan Lokantasi - Beşiktaş is a neighborhood in Istanbul and we walked over to a restaurant for dinner in that neighborhood called Balkan Lokantasi. It was an extremely busy restaurant serving all sorts of different Turkish food in a cafeteria like style. You walk through the line, choose whatever dishes you want, and pay for what you get. You can eat a serious feast for a pretty good price. I got a little confused and didn’t really know what I was doing, so ended up ordering what was way too much food. But that’s alright, it was all really delicious.
It was fantastic day of Turkish food and visiting some attractions in Istanbul that I had wanted to visit my entire life.

Istanbul Street Food - DELICIOUS Turkish Kofte and Breakfast on Turkish Airlines!
►Check out my Istanbul travel food guide:
►Subscribe to my videos:
►Camera I use: (affiliate link)
Day 8: Istanbul, Turkey - On Day 8, we flew on Turkish Airlines and from Muscat to Istanbul. The flight on Turkish Airlines was fantastic, and I had my first ever Turkish breakfast while in the sky. We then checked into The Ritz-Carlton hotel, and had some amazing Istanbul street food kofte for lunch. Istanbul is a city that I’ve always wanted to visit, and I can’t wait to explore and eat more Turkish food!
0:15 Turkish Breakfast on Turkish Airlines - To begin this day and video my wife and I were on a flight with Turkish Airlines (member of Star Alliance) from Muscat, Oman to Istanbul, Turkey. Turkish Airlines is an amazing airlines, and on business class they served us Turkish breakfast since we happen to fly into Istanbul early in the morning. Bread, olives, cheese, honey, and then the main dish included eggs and vegetables. Great flight with Turkish Airlines!
2:42 Istanbul Atatürk Airport - We arrived to Istanbul very early in the morning and after grabbing our bag, we found the bus outside the terminal to go to Taksim Square. The bus cost 11 TL ($3.73) per person.
4:57 The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul - Marriott Hotels sponsored my stay in Istanbul, and it was an honor to have the opportunity to stay at the The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul, which is located just a 5 minute walk from Taksim Square, with a fantastic view of the Bosphorus. We got all checked in, and the room was fantastic.
7:44 Istanbul Street Food - Kofte Sandwich Stall - After taking a little rest in the hotel and drinking some coffee, Ying and I were both pretty hungry. There’s a small Istanbul street food stall that serves amazing grilled kofte, just down the street from The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul, and that’s exactly where we headed, right at lunch time. Before ever arriving I could smell the aroma of the meat on the grill and then I could see the colorful display of peppers and parsley surrounding the grill as well. I ordered a kofte sandwich, and after toasting the bread, he added in a bunch of little meat kofte patties, some tomatoes and onions and peppers, seasoned with some spices and chili powder and handed it to me. For 10 TL ($3.40) for sandwich and drink, this was about as good as it could possibly get for Istanbul street food! Wow it was so good.
12:17 Taksim Square and Turkish Coffee at Mandabatmaz (Istiklal Street) - After that amazing kofte sandwich, we continued walking through Taksim Square, one of the most famous landmarks of Istanbul and then on to the walking Istiklal street. The highlight for me was stopping at Mandabatmaz for a cup of the most amazing Turkish coffee I’ve ever had. Turkish coffee - 5 TL ($1.70).
17:04 Fish and Meat House - At this point Ying and I were starting to get really sleepy - we hadn’t really slept the night before. So we stopped for an early dinner at Fish and Meat House to have some grilled fish. I had the grilled sea bream, which was simple and plain but excellently fresh and cooked perfectly. The salad was also delicious. Total price for everything - 74 TL ($25.12).

Welcome to the final episode of our TURKISH STREET FOOD series. What a way to end it. The WORLD’S BIGGEST DÖNER KEBAB! Starting with MENEMEN for breakfast, a visit at the Dolmabahçe Sarayi palace to learn about the Ottoman Empire, eating the most massive döner kebab, a delicious snack of gozleme (Turkish flatbread), a Turkish favourite - rice stuffed mussels, Turkish coffee at an infamous coffeeshop, and an interesting dinner of kokoreç (highly requested).
We were absolutely thrilled with the various street foods and local cuisine we found in Istanbul, and we were very impressed with the warm hospitality of Turkish locals. It inspired us to return and explore more cities, more food and meet more people. We are already in the works of planning our return. Thank you Turkey so much, we can’t wait to see you again!

Best Turkish Street Food in Istanbul | Gaziantep Food Festival 2019
In this video i visited a street food and cultural event of a city called Gaziantep. The event was held on the Asian side in Maltepe Neighbourhood for a few days. Different kind of street food like Shish Kebabs, Lahmacun and dessert like Baklava and Künefe were served. But there was also a food which is not well known in Istanbul. In Gaziantep people eat it as a breakfast soup. BEYRAN. I ate this soup few times in my life also in Gaziantep. The ingredients are lamb meet, rice, butter, garlic, salt and red pepper flakes. The soup was really Spicy and hot. In the video you can see how to make Beyran Soup. And again a special dessert from Gaziantep called KATMER was also served. It is a crisp phyllo dough dessert which contains pistachios and cream in it. I also tried a mixed dish which was also delicious.

Assalmu Alikom everyone!
Been a while but it is great to show you all some amazing turkish street food from Istanbul! We got to go visit CZNBURAK restaurant and try some amazing kafta, kebabs, and kunefe and we got to meet the chef at CZNBURAK, Burak Özdemir! He is very popular on instagram with amazing food tutorials! It was an amazing experience and highly recommend visiting CZN BURAK restaurant for some authentic turkish food and to try some unique recipes :D
We started the day by visiting the grand bazar which is located in sultan ahmed area beside the blue mosque and hagia sophia. The bazaar is great because there are a lot of unique turkish restaurants that you can try and there are a lot of amazing things to buy and shop. It is a great place to try some turkish coffee and eat some desserts!
After the bazar we decided to go visit sulayman mosque that has an amazing view of the bosphorus and the istanbul city skyline. We decided to grab a quick bite and had a lamb intestine sandwich called kokorec kokoreç. It has a very interesting taste and was flavored with a lot of herbs and spices!
The Süleymaniye Mosque is beautiful and gives you a great view of istanbul and the bosphorus :D after the mosque we headed to grab some seafood! a very popular turkish street food are the stuffed mussels with rice called Midye Dolma! THESE WERE AMAZING and delicious. After we wanted to grab some famous fish sandwiches where you can find them right at the bosphorus where there are a lot of boats and vendors selling these grilled fish sandwiches.
We continued to walk and went to the other side of istanbul to visit the Galata Tower and İstiklal street where there are a lot of great stores and shopping. Here you can find one of my favorite coffee cafes called Mandabatmaz - Türk Kahvesi They sell the best turkish coffee and you can buy some to bring back home!
Finally it was time to try CZNBURAK restaurant and eat some amazing turkish food. We had stuffed grape leaves called dolma and some lamb chops and kafta and kebabs! EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. And we also got to meet Burak himself at the restaurant he was really nice and took a selfie with us :D. The kunefe was amazing and very cheesy and delicious.

ISTANBUL STREET FOOD will BLOW YOU AWAY!! Turkish Street Food HEAVEN - Adana Kebab + Pickle Juice!
Kemeraltı Bazaar in Izmir:
Iskender Kebab in Bursa :
Amazing street food can be found all around Istanbul! Join us as we continue our Street Food in Turkey tour! Today we are going to be trying some unique foods you’ve never heard of!
For breakfast, we are having a RARE type of turşu suyu, which is pickle juice. We ordered the “mixed” version - with cabbage, carrots, cucumbers and beets. And of course, the pickle juice is SPICY! (5 TRY / 0.86 USD)
Next, we’re visiting a weekly fresh market called Tarlabaşi Pazari which is only open on Sundays. In the summer, apricots are in season, and they are worth trying fresh at this traditional market!
In Istanbul, you can sample delicious cuisine that comes from all over Turkey. This time, we decided on Adana cuisine. Adana kebab is made from hand-minced lamb meat cooked over charcoal. That smokey flavour and juicy lamb is HEAVEN! (35 TRY / 6.02 USD)
If you’ve never tried traditional Turkish ice cream, you are missing out! We head to an old-school shop serving up a chewy textured (made from mastic) ice cream cone. So incredible on a hot Turkish summer day! (4.5 TRY / 0.77 USD)
Next up is a cruise on the iconic Bosphorus, because a trip to Istanbul is not complete without one. We opted for the economic TurYol cruise, a 90-minute tour north that passes palaces, mansions, bridges and plenty of gorgeous sights. For 20 TRY / 3.44 USD, that is totally worth it!!!
Since we were near the Bosphorus, we thought we would try the very FAMOUS Balik Ekmek, or grilled fish sandwich. In a tourist hot-spot, served from a real boat, the sights surrounding the restaurant are why it is so popular. The food however, was not that tasty and isn’t considered a good choice among the locals. We wanted to see what the hype was about. Oh well! (15 TRY / 2.58 USD)

TURKISH FOOD TOUR | Best TURKISH FOOD in Istanbul, Turkey- Pide + Kebab | What TO EAT IN ISTANBUL
TURKISH FOOD TOUR | WHAT TURKISH FOOD TO EAT IN ISTANBUL | STREET FOOD in Istanbul
We're in Istanbul, Turkey! This is one of our favourite cities and we've spent 2 months eating our way around Istanbul to create this series. This 4 part series is about showing you more of the unusual Turkish foods and hunting down where the locals eat. Watch our previous Istanbul series here:
This is our first Istanbul food video. We start with the best pide in the city at a simple pide salonu in Fatih. We love the pide here for its crispy, crunchy dough and fresh ingredients. Next up is a traditional Turkish drink called boza. Boza is a fermented drink made of bulgur, water and sugar. It's commonly drunk in the winter as it's very filling and warming. We sample it at a heritage shop that's been around since 1876- it's said Ataturk drunk boza here once!
Onwards for cağ kebab where lamb is roasted on a horizontal spit, sliced onto a skewer and then crisped up over charcoal. Eaten with lavash (flatbread) and ezme a Turkish salad of tomatoes, parsley, onion and pomegranate molasses, the lamb is absolutely mouthwatering. Our final stop is for a pickle juice at a tursu (pickle) shop in Kadikoy which has been around since 1935. Pickles are a big part of Turkish food culture and almost every meal will include some form of pickled vegetable. We down a pickle juice and some pickles to help us digest all the mouthwatering food we've eaten.
We hope you enjoyed this Istanbul food tour! Thanks for watching and if you want to see more content like this don't forget to subscribe. #turkishfood #istanbulstreetfood #istanbulfood
