Dhoni waterfalls is a small waterfalls near Palakkad in Kerala. We had a weekend exploration to the Dhoni and enjoyed the 4 kilometres long trek through dense forests in Wester ghats. Trek happens in batchwise and Timings are 9.30 AM , 11.30 AM, 2.00 PM.

It's a four km trek from the base of the Dhoni hills takes you to the prestige beauty of nature and green surroundings. The waterfall is full during monsoon and it's the best time to visit.

Dhoni water falls palakkad
Dhoni village is located about 15 Kilometres from Palakkad town in Kerala and this place is famous for Dhoni Waterfall and the Western Ghat forests. This waterfall is a gem for tourists looking to spend a calm and leisurely day. This less known paradise is definitely a must visit place in Kerala. Despite the waterfall being rather small, the refreshingly beautiful surroundings create a hall of treasure for nature lovers and especially for those who enjoy trekking. It takes a three hours trek from the base of the Dhoni hills to reach this reserve forest area and to get an access to the waterfalls; Dhoni hills in Palakkad is also a popular picnic spot. Hence, you can spend a day near the waterfalls with an ongoing picnic celebration with family. You can also enjoy a trek up to the Dohni hills from where you can see lovely view of the waterfalls and its fresh breeze and clam environs can be felt as you gaze at the beauty of the Dhoni waterfalls. Lying in the lap of Western Ghats, Nelliyampathy Hills are decorated with a wonderful sight of tea, coffee, cardamom and Orange plantation.
We explored Nelliyampathy Hills and stayed at Leaf and Roots which is bungalow in the forest. Places to visit in Nelliampathy are Pothundy dam, Kesavanpara, Seetharkund, Suicide point, Karappara Hanging bridge.
Standing loftily at an elevation varying from 467 m to 1572 m above the sea level, the hill provides the visitors with a chance for trekking as well as a breath taking view of Palakkad.

Dhoni is situated around 15 Kilometers from Palakkad town in Kerala, India. It is famous for Dhoni Waterfalls and the Western Ghat forests. Dhoni is bordered by Western Ghats on north. It is also a popular trekking spot for tourists. Dhoni Waterfalls is located around 15 km from Palakkad and around 34 km from Kollengode Town in Palakkad. An entry pass is required before entering the area. A fee of Rs.100/-(from Aug 15th 2016) will be charged per person. You have to walk 4 km from the bottom of the hill to reach the waterfalls. The roads are not tarred, and one can see water flowing down between the rocks on the way up. No restrictions for carrying food to the top.

Dhoni is bordered by Western Ghats on north. It is also a popular trekking spot for tourists. Dhoni farm is situated at Dhoni.

Upon reaching the top, one can see the lovely view of the waterfalls and enjoy a bath in the cold waters. With a climb up the rocks one can feel the beauty of the jungles and it is said to have leopards, elephants and so. However, encountering them is rare.
