Saint Paul church = On the fort side of Diu town is the island's last remaining fully-functional church, St Paul's. Completed in 1610, the church has an excellent baroque facade and a very fine selection of wooden panelling and furniture inside, including an extravagantly carved 400 year old pulpit.
Diu museum = A famous tourist spot of the town, the Diu Museum has been set up in the St. Thomas Church. The church had been built in 1598 but was later converted into a museum. The building still bears the worn out and faded portraits and paintings left behind by the Portuguese. A beautiful garden path leads up to Diu Museum, with lovely fountains by its side. The evenings transform the place into a delightful sight with multicoloured lights attractively brightening up the edifice.
The Diu Museum houses numerous stone inscriptions of ancient rulers, antique statues, multi-coloured fountains, wood carvings and idols showcasing the rich past of the region. It also features 400 year old wooden and marble statues of St. Thomas and St. Benedict which is further beautified by the special lighting outside the building. The St. Thomas Church lies on an elevated platform within the Diu Fort. It was created by the Portuguese in 1598, reflecting a Gothic style architecture.
Naida cave = The Naida Caves, one of the most underrated tourist attractions of Diu is just as much of a photographer's paradise as it is for an explorer. Located outside the Diu fort, the caves have an intricate network of tunnels and huge step- like structures that make the caves a must- visit.
It is believed that when the Portuguese ruled over Diu, they broke down sections of a huge rock formation, that they used for construction. This is how the caves got shape eventually. However, it is also studied that the caves were formed due to geological irregularities and processes over a significant amount of time.
It is locally said that in the 20th century, when the Portuguese were adamant about not leaving Diu, and operation Vijay was launched to seize control by the Indian Army, several soldiers were stationed at the Naida caves. These caves have a natural opening that allows sunlight to enter the caves, making it all the more photogenic.

Diu is an excellent new year / winter tourist destination. Top places to visit in Diu are given below. It's natural beauty is just similar to Goa with advantage of less crowded beach and comparatively economical hotels & resorts.
Though it's connectivity is an issue, it is neither well connected with rail nor with flight. only one set of flight is available from Mumbai. Its nearest railway station is UNA but very few trains touches UNA. The best way is to get down at Somnath railway station and pick up taxi to Diu [75 Km from Somnath, charged Rs. 1800/- to drop at Diu (full taxi)].
Places to visit at Diu- Nagoa Beach (main attraction), St Paul's Church, Diu museum, INS Khukhari, Naida caves, Gomtimata beach, Fortress, Jalandhar beach (sunset point).
It is also a good idea to come to Dwarka by train, visit Dwarkadheesh temple, Bhet dwarka, Nageshwar Jyotirling in one and half day then pick train to Somnath at 20:30 , get down at Somnath. One can plan to visit Gir forest which is at 2 hours road journey from Somnath, after visiting the tiger safari, reach Diu by evening. At Diu, apart from main beach Nagoa, the remaining items can be covered in 3-4 hours. It is recommended to hire a two wheeler for roaming around the city area for commuting. An active is available at Rs.400-500/- per day. The hotels/ resorts are also very economical as compared to Goa. In peak period of 25-27 Dec' 2019 I could get Palm beach resort @ Rs.5000/- per day. It is an average type of resort with fair amenities, (with Bar). The other items includes a museum, St Paul's Church, A fort, Cave, INS Khukhari Museum, sunset point, Gomti mata beach. On the last day I checked out at 11 a clock , dropped our luggage at the hotel counter. After visiting the places in the city area, we hired a taxi @ Rs.1500/- (a Maruti Ertiga) to drop at Somnath Railway station. We reached Somnath at around 7:30 in the evening , checked in officer's rest house on first floor of station building it self. Since the Somnath temple timing is from 6:00 to 22:00, we visited the temple at around 8:30. A very good light and sound show is organised daily (ticket is Rs.30/- only) at the temple, of 30m duration. After the darshan and light and sound show, came back to rest house in the night. Morning at 9:30 boarded Jabalpur express.

The town of Diu, also a union territory of India with a coastal length of 21 kms, is a beautiful island located nearby the coast of kathiyawad region at veraval port. The northern part of Diu, India is surrounded by amreli and junagadh town of Gujarat. Arabian Sea majorly covers Diu from three of its sides. Set at the altitude of 6 meters from sea level, the town experiences topography of general plain category. The shrubs and bushes along with other trees grow maximum at the height of 30 meters. Veraval/Somnath is the nearest railway station from Diu. Jethibai Bus Stand is main bus stand located on the starting of fort road. Diu is a major tourist center has many attractions and sightseeing like Bunder Chowk, Fort, Panikota, St. Paul’s Church, INS Kukri. Diu is more popular as a tourist place because of the natural beaches available very near to Diu like nagoa beach, Jalandhar beach, ghoghla beach and Diu diu area itself located on beach.
