Whale Shark Swimming, Australia (Ningaloo Blue Tours)
Well what an amazing day full of excitement. The perfect day to see and swim with this incredible Whale Shark while cruising the ocean waters. Seeing a Whale Shark was not guaranteed on this tour as the season is roughly over. So a glimpse of hope was truly in the air.
We were welcomed by friendly crew and were quickly equip with our wet suits and snorkeling gear. All ready to jump into our first snorkel when our captain said he had a spotting of a Whale Shark and if we want to go to it. Of course we said YESSS!!!
We jumped in the ocean in the middle of nowhere waiting for the signal to look in the water, the first sighting didn't go to plan. The whale shark turned and left us with only a short sighting. The other three goes were a success.
During our tour we were extremely lucky to see Humpback whales, spinner dolphins, Risso dolphins ( not commonly seen as they prefer deep waters) and Blue whales ( A mother and her calf, The mother was roughly 26 meters).

Destination WA - Rockingham Wild Dolphin Experience
There are plenty of wonderful places to see wild dolphins in Perth, but only 40 mins south of Perth, Shoalwater Bay is one of the closest to the city.
Rockingham Wild Encounters have been taking visitors to see the wild dolphins for almost 30 years. They also have decades of experience in finding the dolphins, as well as how to look after them.

I was lucky enough to film this amazing event while on holiday in Exmouth, Western Australia. Just before this happened the whole family was in the water swimming with the whale sharks.... actually kind of scary looking back on it!

Lone Humpback Calf taken by Sharks off the Ningaloo Reef, Exmouth, Western Australia
~FIELD REPORT ~
Whilst out on survey in Exmouth searching for killer whales, Project ORCA and team came upon a lone humpback calf. This is an unusual situation, as the mother (cow) is usually close by when a calf is this young. This calf was very young, with a folded-over dorsal fin observed and tail fluke not yet rigid.
With no cow in sight, we decided to monitor the calf- we kept our distance, switched the engine off and just floated nearby observing. The calf was very interactive, heading close to our boat, swimming underneath us & around us. We remained stationary & put our gopro poles in, not sure of what we would capture.
From the surface we observed one to two sharks at the start of the encounter. After a few hours sitting with this animal & by the time we left, there were well over 15 sharks. Constantly circling the calf, in front of it, trailing behind it, & with level upon level underneath. Parks & Wildlife were alerted & we waited with the calf for a few hours until they could arrive. Although there is nothing any of us could do but watch & observe.
Unfortunately we believe this calf did not survive, and was taken by the numerous sharks circling it. We waited to hear of any stranding reports over the next few days, but heard nothing. All tourist operators were alerted, but the calf was never sighted again. It was a heartbreaking day to be out in the field, but still filled us up with the utmost respect for Mother nature and the wilderness we get to experience out at sea. Rest in peace little one.
