St. Andrews - Whale Watching Trip - Dolphins
Video from a whale watching trip off of St. Andrews (New Brunswick, Canada). There are many operators (businesses) in St. Andrews, all co-located on a single pier. We went on a fast boat trip operated by 'Fundy Tide Runners' - and have not regretted the choice! This company operates small fast boats - former rescue boats used by coast guard. These boats are extremely fast and powerful, but at the same time - very reliable and safe. The captain takes tourists far into the open Bay of Fundy - where they know whales can be seen. During this trip, we saw seals (harbour seals), dolphins and two Fin Whales. This short video is made during one stop near a school of dolphins.

During this trip, we saw seals (harbour seals), dolphins and two Finback Whales. Whales spend most of the time feeding in the depths, resurfacing for short amount of time to replenish lungs with fresh air. They can spend 4-6 mins diving, with only 2-3 mins between dives spent on the surface. Whale watching boat must be very fast to be able to stay with the whales - as there is very short amount of time whales can be seen, and they're constantly on the move - after each dive, they appear far from the spot they dived in. During this trip, we were lucky to stay with (follow) two Finback whales (second largest whales after the Blue Whale) - appears to be a mom and her youngster.
