Interview with Sealife Surveys, an ethical whale and dolphin watch trip provider
James Fairbairns, manager of Sealife Surveys talks about the UK whale and dolphin watching industry and how it has grown and changed in the years since they began business as one of the UK's first ethical tour operators 25 years ago. WSPA UK took TV naturalist Terry Nutkins on a trip in June 2009 to look at the link between Scotland and Norway's minke whale population, highlighting this positive alternative to whaling.

Harbour porpoise
Harbour Porpoises (Phocoena phocoena) are small cetaceans, typically wary of boats and difficult to observe in all but the calmest conditions. During our shore based cetacean surveys off northeastern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, we observe harbour porpoises on a regular basis. Here, one individual rests at the surface for some time before resuming a dive.
