Please watch in HD 1080p. Second time swimming/diving with dolphins in the wild and this time I got it all on video. Enjoy
Are Hawaii tourists getting too close to dolphins?
Swimming with dolphins is a popular activity for tourists in Hawaii, but a proposed federal rule could lead to a dramatic change. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration wants to ban boats and swimmers from getting too close to Hawaiian spinner dolphins. Carter Evans reports from Oahu.

Swim with Dolphins, Makaha Oahu Hawaii
We found a friendly pod of spinner dolphins in the West Coast of Oahu near Makaha Beach
Swimming with Dolphins and Turtles in Oahu (Hawaii)
If you want to to swim with dolphins and turtles in Oahu the west coast is one of the best places in the world to do so.. Set on the leeward side of the island the water remains transparent most of the year, and it is here that dolphins choose to live most of the year and whales give birth.
In this tour I joined Wild Side Specialty Adventures ( on a dolphin and turtle swim off the beautiful coast of Hawaii. Leaving early in the morning from Waianae on the west coast of Oahu we headed out into the ocean and about 45 minutes later we spotted the first pod which followed us for a while.
After swimming with the dolphins the tour continued towards a rock known to be a place where turtles come to be cleaned by other fish. A great experience!

Visiting Oahu in a Day - Oahu Day Tour
Get my free travel guide now! (CLICK LINK) Going Solo: a Complete Guide to Help You Plan Your Trip of a Lifetime.
Hi Federico. Your guide on travelling solo is awesome!! I can't stop reading it. Thanks x!-Agness, reader.
In this episode I join a circle island tour of Oahu, giving me the opportunity to see some of the best of the island in just one day. While the island is not very big there are indeed many things to see and do in Oahu, and an Oahu day tour makes this process much easier. Sure, you might not spend as much time as you'd like in each of the spots you visit, but if you do have a few days (which you probably do) you can always come back!
There is one thing that I really enjoyed about this day tour versus others I have been in and that is that besides learning what there is to do in Hawaii's main island the driver is enthusiastic, fun and knowledgeable. Many of the things he will explain are difficult to learn if you're on your own, so paying attention does make the trip more fun.
My favourite spots of all those visited were Hanauma Bay and the Byodo temple. Just a couple of days before I had snorkelled in Hanauma Bay (check my other video about my experience here and visit my blog for more information on these and other places visited in thw tour) and it's something you must not miss as the bay is so close to Waikiki beach.
The places to visit in Oahu that this tour covers are a good selection, considering how much is being covered, but I highly recommend you do go again on your own. For example, the tour does not stop in Turtle Bay, probably the easiest place in Oahu where to conveniently spot and swim with turtles without having to pay for a tour (check my other video of this place There is a nice hotel and a few surf breaks nearby if you want to ride some waves while here.
I was less impressed with the Dole pineapple plantation; this is obviously a marketing stop to get tourists to spend some money. Sure, you will learn a few things about pineapples but like me you probably did not come to Hawaii for this. On the other hand, by the time you get here you will have already endured about 10 hours or more of the Oahu day tour, hence it's an opportunity to stretch your legs.
Finally, make sure you also read this post from my budget travel blog with 5 tips that I guarantee will save you money when there, from where to find the cheapest surfboards for rent to the cheapest car rental agency in the island

Discovering more of Kauai's secrets with Danny Hashimoto, Hawaii
Danny Hashimoto - a son of Hawai'i (born and raised...of native Hawaiian blood, Japanese and Chinese extraction). Danny is extremely grateful to have grown up on Kaua'i (and still growing) and appreciating the natural beauty and lushness of his Garden Island, Danny loves being outdoors...which includes the ocean, particularly snorkeling and swimming with dolphins, turtles and other amazing, beautiful creatures such as spotted eagle rays, etc., when the opportunity arises.
Danny's appreciation for his native land of Hawai'i and his culture became more pronounced after having lived abroad in several countries as well as Colorado which was enjoyable due to the wonderful snow skiing (a very avid ski boarder...and helped pioneer this great new sport on the ski slopes.)
Spending most of his time on Kaua'i, Danny is involved in a myriad of activities...from leading hiking tours (both easy and challenging - such as climbing waterfalls), to kayaking (ocean and river), even wild dolphin swims. Danny enjoys sharing his native land with both newcomers and locals... sharing his knowledge of history, culture, native plants, birds, and even the sacredness of certain sites/areas which he has been doing actively for the last four years.
Other activities include making delicious chocolate treats using raw cacao and healthy ingredients such as pure coconut milk and quality sweeteners with a low glycemic index, etc. Danny has been perfecting his art of making chocolate mousse and fudge over the past four years and has won a number of cooking contests in the dessert-making category.
