There are very few glaciers in the world where one can reach by road, and Drang Drung Glacier is that one such spectacular sight in India. The 22 kilometers long Drang-Drung-Glacier, situated just after crossing the Pensi La into the Zanskar valley, is Ladakh's largest glacier accessible to tourists.

On the route from Kargil to Zanskar the most wanted destinations are panzi La and Drang Drung Glacier and one cannot miss the photography and shooting of movie at this scenic point.
22km long Drang-Drung-Glacier is the largest glacier accessible to tourists in the Ladakh region. In fact Drang Drung is located in heights of Zanskar. Drang Drung glacier is the source of Doda River and one can trek upto the glacier from Padum. the Stod river also has its source at the Drang Drung glacier. Drang Drung glacier can also be seen from the Pensi La pass. Pensi-la (Pensi Pass) almost midway between Padum and Rangdum. The glacier in fact looks like a winding river from Pensi la, the difference being that instead of water its a river of ice. Drang Drung is one of the major attractions of Zanskar region and augments the chanrm of this adventure junky paradise!
The three day voyage from Leh Zanskar valley is crammed with natural marvels like stunning glaciers, spectacular mountain ranges and fruit orchards. A glacier is a big, sluggish stream of ice, bent from trampled sheets of snow, that gradually distorts and surges in accordance with gravity. One among the biggest glaciers in India, Drang-Drung Glacier offers the picturesque scenery of the snow capped mountain peaks of the Himalayas.
A lengthy and meandering river of snow and ice, Drang-Drung glacier in Ladakh. It is from the cliff-like proboscis of this all-embracing glacier that the Stod or Doda offshoot of the Zanskar River heaves at an elevation of 14500 feet of Pensi La, the Drung Durung glacier looks gorgeous and awe inspiring.

The Drang-Drung Glacier (also called Durung Drung Glacier) is a mountain glacier near the Pensi La mountain pass at the Kargil - Zanaskar Road in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir in India.
The Drang-Drung Glacier is likely to be the largest glacier in Ladakh other than the Siachen Glacier in the Karakoram Range, with a maximum length of 23 kilometres (14 mi) at an average elevation of 4,780 m (15,680 feet). The glacier lies in the northeastern Himalayan Range known as the Zanskar Range, 142 kilometres (88 mi) south of Kargil and 331 kilometres (206 mi) east of Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Drang-Drung Glacier is a long river of ice and snow, a source of the Stod River which is a tributary of the Zanskar River and the Zanskar River is a tributary of Indus River. Doda Peak with an elevation of 6,550 m (21,490 feet) rises from the glacier.

Finally done with the editings and come up with this elusive Vlog of : Travel to Zanskar Valley ♥️
We started the journey bit early and experienced the bad shape of Road towards Kargil - to - Zanksar.
I shared all the things included some indigenous practice which people of Zanskar are still practicing.
I was lucky enough to travel to this valley on a moderate Wheatear and especially with a Wildlife Team. Which supports in every situation, making delicious food and providing every basic need and favour.
Will go again in this valley next time, till then enjoy every glimpse which I captured.

We dive deeper into Zanskar Valley, first exploring Karsha Gompa - the largest monastery in the region, and then wander around the ruins of the famous Zangla Palace. It's time to leave Padum behind and head further North towards the end of our journey. We pass by the giant statue of The Great Padmasambhava in Sani Village, and then drive up to Pensi La Pass where the gigantic Drang Drung Glacier leaves us gobsmacked! We reach our final destination, Village Rangdum and as the sun sets we say our last goodbyes to the magnificent, mystical land of Zanskar.

Solo ride to Pensi La pass Zanskar Valley Drang Drung Rangdum Kashmir with horses
One of the few experiences from my solo Ladak trip where I rode with wild horses(for a brief period of time). Hope you guys are able to spot the horses.
Pensi La is 14,436 ft above sea level one of the toughest passes of India because of bad roads/no roads. Few of my bike's screws broke. I had hard time tying the exhaust with a rope.
