19 DEAD Plane Crash in Nepal | Mount Everest in Kathmandu, Nepal Sherpa Adventure Travels
Kathmandu, Nepal (CNN) -- A plane carrying tourists and others to a staging point for Mount Everest expeditions crashed Friday after striking an eagle on takeoff, killing all 19 people aboard, Nepali authorities said.
The Sita Air flight from the Nepali capital of Kathmandu to the village of Lukla was carrying 16 passengers -- seven from the UK, five from China and four from Nepal -- in addition to the three-member crew, airline official Sameer Neupane said.
The Dornier-built aircraft went down just two minutes after taking off from Kathmandu's international airport, China's state-run Xinhau news service reported Friday, citing Naryan Bastakoti, the deputy inspector general of Nepal Police at the airport.
The plane crashed on the bank of the Maohara River in Bhaktapur District, Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority said.
Images from the scene showed emergency workers surrounding the plane's charred remains, trying to extinguish flames. Plane crashes after takeoff in Nepal
The flight was headed for Lukla, a village in northeastern Nepal that is the starting point for many expeditions to Mount Everest, the world's tallest peak. This is the high season for visitors to the Everest region.
While the crash remains under investigation, it appears the plane's collision with a black eagle was a factor, according to Ratish Chandra Lal Suman, general manager of Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
Officials have recovered the plane's flight data recorder, he said.
The UK Foreign Office confirmed that seven British nationals were on the flight. China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed the death of five Chinese nationals.
The Britons were booked on a trek with Sherpa Adventure Travels, said Sonam Sherpa, the manager of the trekking company. The 13-day hike would have taken the tourists to the base camp at Everest and back to Lukla, Sherpa said.
A U.S.-based company, Explore Worldwide, also issued a statement Friday saying that the British tourists were customers of the company and that a member of the company's Nepalese staff was among those killed.
It appeared that Explore had partnered with Sherpa Adventure Travels to conduct the trip.
Plane crashes are not uncommon in Nepal. A small plane crashed in a mountainous area of the country in May, killing 15 of the 21 people on board.
And a year ago, a plane returning to Kathmandu from a sightseeing tour hit a mountain and broke into pieces. All 19 passengers on board died, including two Americans.

Official Historical vlog || Makawanpur Gadhi || memory of king Prithvi Narayan Shah
Dont forget to like comment & share our video...and also subscribe our channel for more videos and vlogs..
This vlog is represented by Prasai Group .. It is the first vlog made bY Prasai group..Makawanur Gadhi is the historical place of Nepal and is popular for war time which is releated to king Prithvi Narayan Shah..Makwanpurgadhi or Makwanpur Gadhi (literally Makwanpur Fort) is a village development committee in Makwanpur District in the Narayani Zone of southern Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 14996 people living in 2588 individual households.[1]
The Makwanpur Gadhi, which lies in about 17 kilometers north from Hetauda is the great achievement of the Sen dynasty. Before the unification of Nepal “The Sen dynasty” ruled over Makwanpur till 1819 B.S. Then ruler of Palpa “Mukunda Sen” divided his huge state into four parts among his four sons and so Makwanpur came under his youngest son “Lohang Sen”. The another king of the same regime “Tula Sen” constructed the Makwanpur gadhi during his ruling period. Later on his grand daughter, Indra Kumari was married to King Prithivi Narayan Shah of Gorkha State, who annexed Makwanpur to Gorkha in 1819.
There are two castles in the fort, one is called the “Mool Gadhi” (the main fort) and other is “Sanno Gadhi” (the small fort). About 35 years ago, there was a palace called “Jungey Darbar”, which had its own supernatural beauty and it was an important belonging of the “Sen Dynasty”. But instead of conserving the historical monument, the later Sen king used the palace (Jungey Darbar) for their personal uses. Having historical and cultural importance, The Makwanpur Fort is a very precious wealth of Makwanpur district. 25 feet high and 7 feet wide wall surround the fort. There is a 10 feet deep canal, which was constructed in order to protect themselves from the enemies. In order to protect the fort, some soldiers were in duty but now there is no any soldier and many of the monuments had been lost.Among those the heart of this gadhi The Lord krishna which had been called by the name bangashagopal was robbed.
It is one one of the top 10 touristrial place of hetauda ,makawanpur kathmandu and all over Nepal...it also belongs to beautiful and greenery city hetauda...This place is popular for the touristrial visit for fun during holiday time..the place is situated from around 25 km from hetauda. i went their by conating one travel agency who are originally from hetauda eagle eye treks and expedition. the placa also include the 30 min hiking from the roads. its take 1 hour by bike fromhetauda. its the combination of histry and nature. i like this palce. This place is located at makwanpur district. And only 17 km from heatuda buddha chowk. This place is still hidden from domestic tourist and also from external tourist. Talking about this place iy was not under protection from so many years but bow it is being conserved from locals and the bikas samitis i am very happy that it is under conservation it has the historical importance it is also known as the bride's house(sasurali) of our legendary king pirthivi narayan shah dev. But their was the fight between between two kings makwanpurey king and gorkha king gorkha king defeated makwanpurey king and he united the makwanpur in the part of greater Nepal....you can visit manakamana temple, bhutan devi mai and dhunge gadi you can enjoy the hike from the city.....gumbas, parks you can see on the way and also you can enjoy milk product (khuwa) at chaughada....this place needs some support and promotions to make it well known for the domestic tourist and external as well and for worshiping you can see the temple of one and only mongolian faced krishna..(Bansi Gopal)......thank you all the people who have been to the place and share your experience......

The Thoughtful Traveller Q&A - World Expeditions
On 14 March 2018, we gathered a panel of experts in our Sydney office to address responsible travel topics including: ethical voluntourism, working conditions for porters in Nepal, voluntourism and why travellers should think twice before visiting an orphanage overseas.
Following a question and answer style format, the panellists took questions from the audience, as well as from a survey we ran to collect questions from those who couldn’t make the Sydney event, to help educate, inform and highlight the importance of travelling responsibly.
Responsible Travel has always been at the forefront of World Expeditions' travel philosophy since we began walking holidays back in 1975.
If you're passionate about matters such as conserving the environment, animal welfare or preserving the culture of local communities you should watch this important discussion.
____________________
The panellists:
Environmental sustainability | Tom Schroder, South Pole: Do travellers have a role to play in slowing down the impact of Global Warming?
Child- safe tourism | Leigh Mathews, ReThink Orphanages: Why do well-meaning Australian travellers need to think twice about supporting or visiting an orphanage?
Animal friendly tourism | Ben Pearson, World Animal Protection: Why should travellers protect the welfare of vulnerable animals used in the tourism industry?
Equity and rights for overseas tourism staff | Tim Macartney-Snape, two-time Mount Everest summiteer: Whether your aiming for the summit of Mount Everest or simply Everest Base Camp, it is all made possible because of mountain porters. How can travellers ensure that mountain porters’ working conditions are suitable?
Voluntourism | Sue Badyari, World Expeditions: When is voluntourism mutually beneficial to travellers and the host community and when does it do more damage. Is there a future for this kind of tourism.
Litter minimisation and management | Lisa Vitaris, 10 Pieces: Can we harness the collective power of travellers via a simple litter collection campaign to change the littering mentality of developing nations?
Travel as a catalyst for peace | Gail Parsonage, International Institute for Peace through Tourism: Can travellers be ambassadors for global peace?
