Surfing Nova Scotia - Lawrencetown Beach - Look What I Found In My Search For Wax!
Video Taken September 12, 2018
So, at the end of my Surfing Nova Scotia - Martinique Beach video I said ...and our mission now is to find a surf shop where we can buy some wax... and this led me to leave the beach early in hope to find the Kannon Beach Surf Shop still open at Lawwrencetown Beach.
Well, I was lucky because the surf shop stays open until 6pm and I wouldn't have made it if it closed any earlier. I bought my wax and then proceeded to check out the surrounding area and I found, to my delight, that the waves at Lawrencetown Beach were still firing and there were still lots of surfers in the water.
I was too pooped to surf but my camera still had some battery life and there was lots of good footage to be had so this is the result of my walk around the beach and shooting some opportune clips. Even though I haven't surfed Nova Scotia's most popular surfing beach yet, I'm happy to say that I caught it with some pretty good conditions to shine a nice light on it.
Cheers, John ;)

Winter Surfing In Canada
Growing up in Canada I thought surfing was something you could only do in California. Then I learned about a rare breed of Canadians who find their waves when the temperatures fall below zero.
I've tried it a few times over the last decade or so now. I'm bad at it.
But I keep trying.
Shout out to the East Coast Surf School for the rentals and for just being awesome people. Their kindness levels are off the charts.

Nova Scotia Surfing - Cowa-Baya-Bunga Dude!
Video shot on Oct. 27, 2017
I stole the car from my wife and made her walk home from work ( not really...lol ) and took a 1 3/4 hour drive to Cow Bay to purposely shoot some video of local surfers. I had never been there before and didn't know what to expect except that MagicSeaWeed had predicted good conditions for that Friday. What I found was a gem of a surf spot with multiple entry points along the bay area in which to surf and a boatload of awesome surfers ripping it up!!!
IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL THE SURFERS WITH WHOM I MET THAT DAY:
First of all, I want to say that is was sincerely an honor, pleasure and privilege to meet all the surfers that I met that day. I want to thank each and every one of you who let me get up in their grill and in their personal space to ask surfing questions and to let me chat with them. You couldn't have been more friendly to this 54 year old outsider who is just learning how to surf and trying to make some fun YouTube videos. Thanks again for your kindness and hospitality! ;)
Secondly, I want to apologize as I think I pushed my little waterproof tough Olympus TG-4 camera way past it's limits that day so please forgive me and my camera for all of the out of focus, grainy and jittery clips and weird audio noises as I tried my hardest ( and so did the camera ) to do you guys justice and get some decent shots of all of you surfing that day. Oh yeah, I was surrounded by flies most of that day too in case you're wondering what all the black things flying around were.
I found out after getting home and looking at the clips on a full screen, that DIGITAL ZOOM is a no-no in video production...causes grainy shots! I also had a digital compression setting in my camera set to a position for quantity of shots and not quality so that may have affected the quality of clips I took as well...can you tell that I'm new at this? In any case, I did get a lot of shots of various surfers who were there that day and I managed, after many hours of editing over 100 clips...to make this video. I tried my best with what I've got to work with...
I hope you enjoy what I have presented to you. I also hope that you won't mind if I come up again some time in the future to shoot more surfing video. I had an awesome day with you all and I hope you enjoyed the day too...it sure looked like a good one from my point of view!!!
Sincerely, John Egan ;)

Surfing Nova Scotia - Another Provincial Park Beach
Video Taken On August 21, 2018
Last year's footage but it was a nice day! For some reason, I played the secret surf spot card in this video and it's a Provincial Park!!!...not very secret at all...just play along and have fun with it...if you watch to the end you will find out what beach it is if you haven't guessed by that point.
Old footage and not real exciting but there is one long shot of a guy catching a really nice ride if you look carefully enough...at least it's a short video so you won't be in pain watching me flounder around for too long...LOL :)
Cheers, John ;)
