I arrived at the infamous BAMBOO FOREST in romantic Arashiyama a little late in the afternoon and it was already full of people so I chose this Jinriksha ride to brighten up and have fun!!! Best thing ever!! My driver took some surprisingly nice pix and helped with the video!! Definitely try it, they have such in Tokyo and Kamakura and other places in Japan! I had the short course and costed under $28 USD!

Exploring Arashiyama and taking a rickshaw ride through the Bamboo Grove! Arashiyama is one of my favourite places in Kyoto. It is so beautiful and so peaceful. Thank you so much to the kind owner of Arashiyama-kan for showing us around and telling us more about the history of Kyoto! I highly recommend this restaurant for delicious vegan/vegetarian bento!

Cycling from Kyoto to Arashiyama
You haven't been to Kyoto until you've tried cycling. It's easy, fun and only cost 1900 Yen! We rented the bike at J-Cycle, which is very efficient. The rental process took less than 10 minutes. You are provided with a map of various courses you may want to take, but you should also rely on Google Maps. As it's impossible to do everything on the course, you need to pick carefully. At the first parking spot, buy a parking ticket for 200 Yen, which you can use all over Kyoto. Remember to always lock your bike!

Kyoto, Nara, Arashiyama, Hakone - Japan Travel Vlog Part 1
We traveled to Japan in May, and spent several days in Kyoto and the surrounding areas, visiting as many temples, shrines and castles as we could!
We made a trip to Nara, famous for the world's largest bronze Buddha and free roaming deer.
In Arashiyama we biked around the city, enjoying the views of the preserved streets, komorebi - the interplay between light and leaves when sunlight shines through trees - in the bamboo forest, and feeding monkeys.
The last stop on this section of the trip was Hakone where we spent the evening in a traditional Ryokan and relaxed in an Onsen (and got stuck on a mountain due to some volcanic activity!)

Assorted topics of conversation came along as we've watched the flock of local and foreign tourists.
