Western Australia National Park Tour - El Questro Park and Emma Gorge
Touring Western Australia's National Parks is one of the most popular trips to take. While driving through the Kimberlys and Kununurra you will pass through El Questro National Park and Emma Gorge. This park area was easily one of my favorite places to tour on my camping trip down the coast of Western Australia through the Western Territory. If you are planning the pass through the Kununurra area you must take a day and see the amazing gorges and hike that El Questro National Park and Emma Gorge has to offer. You will either need 4wd or be prepared to walk a little to explore all that these amazing nature parks have to offer. The hikes you will experience are not easy but are very rewarding to complete and to see what is at the end.
If you are looking to stay and camp in El Questro or Emma Gorge there is a nice resort area that I recommend checking out inside of the Emma Gorge area. When you are leaving you can either take the Gibb road (4wd is absolute must) for an adventure or head back to the main sealed highway to continue on your adventure through Australia.

El Questro -Saddle back & Pigeon hole lookouts - The Kimberleys
A 7 km round trip from the Station camp grounds, the steep, narrow Saddleback Ridge track is much more of a challenge and recommended for experienced drivers only. A true outback adventure, experience the Pentecost Valley with its rich riverside vegetation and rocky, sloped landscape sparsely covered with spinifex, grevilleas and strands of snappy gums. Drive to the top for the spectacular 360-degree view from a platform overlooking sandstone escarpments, with all of El Questro in the distance.
El Questro Wilderness Park - The Landscape
Explore this remote Australian location in a beautiful short video. In El Questro Wilderness Park you'll find an abundance of animals, fish and bird life congregating near rivers and waterholes.

El Questro River Crossing
Our (Mudflaps and Skidmark) around Australia trip took us to El Questro Station on the Gibb River Road, Western Australia where we camped and fished (without luck) in idyllic country. The road into El Questro has a few shallow water crossings and to get to El Questro Gorge, there is a water crossing that is a bit deeper than average. El Questro is not far from Emma Gorge, which is well worth the walk.

DJI Phantom Kimberley - Kununurra Western Australia
Ok, been up at the Kimberley's at a place called Kununurra in Northern Western Australia doing some work and took the DJI Phantom with me, when I had a bit of time took the Phantom out to show the sites around the place.
Weather wasn't overly kind but got as much footage I could of this beautiful place on the edge of the Kimberley. The compass played up a bit on the Phantom, may have something to do with the soil as it is a known area for Iron Ore.. maybe... that's my theory so didn't seem to get the smooth footage I was after as I do not use post stabilisation in my videos ... maybe I should but I like to give as much raw footage as I can. Some may say learn to fly better ... well ... I'm trying :)
Kununurra Diversion Dam: The construction of the Ord River Diversion Dam started in late 1960 and was officially opened in July 1963 by then Prime Minister, Robert Menzies. The Ord River Diversion Dam holds back Lake Kununurra, which gravity feeds the Ord River Irrigation Area.
The main Ord River Dam, known locally as Top Dam holds back the waters of the Ord River in Lake Argyle. The Ord scheme created Lake Argyle, which is Australia's largest dam, covering an area of 741 km.
The Pump House Restaurant is situated on the edge of the Ord River, in the booming and rapidly expanding town of Kununurra. The owners have converted the original Pump Station, constructed in 1961, into a restaurant, paying particular attention to the preservation of its historical integrity. Had a lovely meal there in the restaurant and had the local fresh water crocodile keeping an eye on the situation.
Elephant Rock, a big rock formation on Lake Kununurra. (The official name is Carlton Ridge.)
Would have loved to climb it but will happen next time...
El Questro Wilderness Park: Over 1 million acres in size, El Questro is located in Western Australia's untamed Kimberley region and extends for approximately 80 kilometres into its heart, most of which has never been explored.
Zebedee Springs: Zebedee Springs are a permanent thermal spring surrounded by Livistona palm trees. They are located in the El Questro Wilderness Park. With the water temperature ranging between 28 -- 32 degrees Celsius all year round. Very relaxing place this was ...
The Chamberlain River is a river in the Kimberley of Western Australia.
The headwaters of the river rise in the Durack range near Yulumbu. The river flows in a northerly direction along the range until it merges with the Pentecost River near El Questro Station.
HCJB Global Australia: Had the chance to view the sites of HCJB radio ministry which spreads the gospel by shortwave radio to India and now with the completed 120 metre parabolic antenna to the Asia Pacific region. Had fun with the lead technician Daniel, flying the Phantom around the new parabolic antenna getting video and photographic images for Daniel to use who also has an interest in flying remote planes. We had a blast...
Middle Springs is a big pool with a grassy edge, nice for picnics and popular with families. During and just after the wet season you find a serious of smaller pools and waterfalls above the main pool. 4WD only to this place ....
OK the helicopter ride ... and thanks to our host for this as when its your 25th wedding anniversary what else would you do ...they don't drive you ...but fly you to the Pump House for dinner ...
