Enjoy Life in VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada. Safe City & Country. Walk on East 2nd.
As time goes by in this season in Vancouver Canada, everyone can enjoy the gorgeous colours that are to be seen all over the city.
We are walking on East 2nd Avenue. The starting point is on Nanaimo Street and we end the video on Renfrew Street next to the T & T Supermarket, which specialized in Asian related foods. Come to think of it there used to be a Blockbuster's Video around this area once upon a time...

Horseshoe Bay to Burnaby: Then and Now (1966 & 2017)
The BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has been providing some amazing film footage of BC's highways from 1966, including the drive from Horseshoe Bay (West Vancouver) to New Burnaby. Thanks to them for making this footage available for us to enjoy.
I thought it would be fun project to shoot the same route in 2017, and highlight the differences between 'then and now'. So, I created a side by side view showing a comparison of the route, about 51 years later years later.
Some notes:
- The 2017 video was shot on November 4, 2017.
- The 1966 video is unedited, however small sections of the 2017 video have been cut (mostly due to so much traffic slowing down the drive).
- I did my best to sync the video wherever possible using landmarks and road alignments (bridges, streets, buildings, etc) as freeze frames, allowing for a great visual comparison of the old and new footage. The speed of the video varies throughout, slowing down for our landmarks.
- If you wish, you can slow down by clicking on the gear shaped icon in the bottom right corner of the video screen, then click “Speed” and choose your desired speed.
Info and Credits:
1966 Video: Thanks to BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for posting this at:
2017 Video: Shot in 1080p 60 FPS High Definition using a dashcam mounted in my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I welcome any feedback or comments you might have.

VANCOUVER Canada. South-East Area (Fraserview). Walking Tour Around the City.
Located closer to Burnaby than to Downtown Vancouver, the Fraserview area has always been a nice place to live.
We start our journey on Upland Drive. On Google Maps, this road is called North Arm Trail Greenway since it's a bike route that hardly anyone uses. A left is taken on Humm Street and then we reach Brigadoon Avenue. After we pass by the elementary school Sir James Douglas, we take a right on Duff Street.
