DISCOVERING Covered Bridge Series - Episode 1 - Everett Covered Bridge
Introducing a new series for Season III.
DISCOVERING Covered Bridge Series - Everett Covered Bridge
Address: Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Peninsula, OH 44264
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Facts About this Bridge:
19th Century Bridge - Original Build date is uncertain but guesses are around 1870.
The first covered bridge in Ohio was built in 1809 with over 2000 covered bridges built!
Popularity of covered bridges diminished in the 1880's due to more durable iron bridges.
Everett Bridge is only remaining Covered bridge in Summit County.
In 1975, the bridge was destroyed due to a spring storm. In 1986, with the help of donations, Everett Covered Bridge was reconstructed as a historical accurate replica.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park Winter Hike
My dad and I took a winter hike in December 2010. We're from the east side of Cleveland and had never been to this National Park in the 20+ years we have lived in the area. Check it out if you can its really special.
Hiking the Buckeye Trail to Deer Lick Cave | Cuyahoga Valley National Park, OH
The Buckeye Trail is a 1400 mile loop around the state of Ohio that passes through many local, state, and national parks and forests.
This video features a section of the Buckeye Trail that runs through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The hike begins at the Jaite Trailhead off of Vaughn Road and ends at Brecksville Station, in Brecksville Reservation, a popular recreational site that provides access to the Cuyahoga River, Ohio & Erie Canal, Towpath, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and serves as a stop for the Scenic Railway.
This section of the Buckeye Trail is a challenging hike, consisting of many steep climbs and descents, and several creek crossings.
The highlight of the hike is the section of the Buckeye Trail that overlaps with the Deer Lick Cave Loop in Brecksville Reservation. The cave, adjacent ledges, streams, and surrounding forest provide a scenic, relaxing environment.

Hiking Wetmore & Langes Run Trails | Cuyahoga Valley National Park
There's nothing like a hike with good company, great conversation, and lots of laughs!
Wetmore Trail (4.5 mi) and Langes Run (3.5 mi) trail are located in the Wetmore Area of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Although Wetmore Trail is a loop in its own right, it can be combined with other trails such as Langes Run to extend the mileage of the hike. The Wetmore/Langes Run loop also incorporates the Valley Trail as a connector (1.2 mi), which provides a 6.8 mile hike.
The terrain varies from hilly to flat, and rocky to smooth; there are a few steep climbs and a few steep descents. However, the flat sections provide some reprieve before the next climb/descent. Creek crossings are often waiting for you in the valleys.
The trails run through mostly forest, but you'll encounter a few meadows, as well.
All of the trails in the Wetmore Area are open to hikers and horseback riders, so be on the look out for horses, as well.
Due to the mileage, elevation profile, and creek crossings, the hike should be treated as ranging from moderate to difficult.
The hike featured in this video began at the Wetmore Trailhead, off Wetmore Road, and proceeded west on the Valley Trail until encountering Langes Run Trail. It then followed Langes Run south and east until it intersected with Wetmore Trail, which led back to the trailhead.

Lansing, Michigan
Lansing is the capital of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located mostly in Ingham County, although portions of the city extend west into Eaton County and north into Clinton County. The 2010 Census placed the city's population at 114,297, making it the fifth largest city in Michigan. The population of its Metropolitan Statistical Area was 464,036, while the even larger Combined Statistical Area population, which includes Shiawassee County, was 534,684. It was named the new state capital of Michigan in 1847, ten years after its admittance as a state.
The Lansing Metropolitan Area, colloquially referred to as Mid-Michigan, is an important center for educational, cultural, governmental, commercial, and industrial functions. The area is home to two medical schools, one veterinary school, two nursing schools, two law schools—including Western Michigan University and Michigan State University—a Big Ten Conference university, the Michigan State Capitol, the state Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, a federal court, the Library of Michigan and Historical Center, and headquarters of four national insurance companies.
