Mr Nô @ Fac251/The Hacienda (Manchester) with Peter Hook
Mr Nô @ Fac251/The Hacienda (Manchester) with Peter Hook - Manchester on May 1st.
Young artist from the tire industrys French capital Clermont-Ferrand, Mr Nô has been producing music since only 2009 and is already headlining some of the coolest parties and festivals in Europe (Printemps de Bourges, Coopérative de Mai, Europavox, Indétendances, SFTOC Festival, The Factory). With a handful of excellent remixes for artists such as The Elderberries (Discograph), Bolik (TTT), Tknik (Personne Records), Abstract Sound Project (Citizen), Sourya (Massive Central), Asyl (Because), Kit, Something A La Mode (Yellow Production) and Supercommodore (Kiez Beats), Mr Nô is part of a new generation of talented producers with a music background consisting of well integrated electronic, rock and funk influences. This is probably one of many reasons why hes recently been invited to play at Manchesters Factory (ex-Hacienda) with Peter Hook.
Working on analog synths and instruments, he sounds « Big », according to his peers (Yuksek, Fukkk Offf and consort). Electronic rhythm, rock energy and 80s synth flavor, his unique style has already held the attention of taste makers such as JD Beauvallet (Les Inrockuptibless chief editor) and national newspapers such as Le Monde.
Mr Nô is now working on his own material and will release his first single « He Or She » on the New York based label Coco Machete at the beginning of June.
His reputation has also been built by a terrific live act that he is throwing all over the country with his Vj and Partner DVP, which is creating a new kind of live experience.
Born in 1986 in Clermont Ferrand, he learned classical music and theater for 7 years.

KarmaDeva BIOG
myspace.com/karmadeva
Female fronted new wave, indie, alternative.
Somewhere between the Yeah Yeah Yeah's Karen O and Patti Smith there is the dazzling, charismatic Jane Stanness (JJ), singer of KarmaDeva. With vibrant guitar sounds, driving bass and powerfully expressive vocals this band are comparable to the likes of White Lies, Florence and the machine, Blondie, Siouxsie and the Banshees and the Editors. In KarmaDeva's captivating music Post Punk meets new wave. A cool, unforgiving urgency combines with post punk though funkier than that usually dares to be to create the unique sound of KarmaDeva.
KD is fronted by the enigmatic and unpredictable Jane (JJ) Stanness, whose prom dress and bunches sweetness, are streaked with a darkness betraying her former life as a mordantly satirical award winning scriptwriter.
Fans have likened her voice to Patti Smith and whilst they share a smokily compelling penetration, Jane reveals her individuality with seductive, soaring, and at times touchingly vulnerable vocals. KarmaDeva have exploded onto the UK scene, their powerful stage presence captivating audiences, drawing them into the excitement and dark poetic melancholy of their songs. This is a band with real depth and resonance, whose vivid and lyrical imagery of love, longing and redemption seduce your consciousness, hook you in and take up residence.
They've supported legendary acts such as Grace Jones, Supergrass, The Fall, The Damned, and also played alongside The Holloways, People in Planes, The Zutons, Super Furry Animals.
Band members:
Jane Stanness
Pete Stanness
Gav Loynes
