Shi Miao Hai teaching in Fawang Temple
During my stay in 2015 in Fawang Temple I made some nice footage of Shi Miao Hai teaching. I got trained just like the monks in the clip. Every morning we wake up at 5 AM to begin a new day where we train 6 - 8 hours. At first you may say its sad for them to live like this, but these kids learn the most important values of life. When they are finished here they have a good chance to get a well payed job.

A typical day in a shaolin temple
Kung fu training and lifestyle at fawang temple. Go pro first person footage of my daily routine at the temple. Training starts at 5am and for me it continued until around 6pm except for the Chinese students, they trained way past that time. The kids in the video, were the beginners group, the youngest in the temple. Still they were bad ass and also a huge inspiration for me!

This is the story of three Dutch Kung Fu disciples, who went to the legendary Shaolin Temple and found an adventure. They trained with monks Yan Bi and Yan Feng, they participated in Buddhist rituals, they lost some weight and gained a lot of knowledge. And they met a few new friends along the way.
Join our faithful pilgrims Yan Shao, Yan Lì and Yan Shī on their journey to the heart and origin of Kung Fu in the Shaolin Temple. You'll see some unique hidden gems, such as the Pagoda Forest, amazing acrobatics demonstrations and the ascent on Mount Song.

5-year-old Kung Fu boy learns martial arts at China's Shaolin Temple
#KungFu master in the making: A 5-year-old boy has been learning martial arts at China's Shaolin Temple for two years.
Project Week 2015 - Fawang Temple trip
The Songshan region of Henan province is famous as the home of the Shaolin style of martial arts. For CIS Hangzhou's 'Project Week' in May this year, twelve of our students and three members of staff visited Da Fawang Si, one of the few Buddhist temples there that still runs a traditional kung fu school for its young trainee monks. It is also the only temple school which admits outsiders to study.
