Arriving in Washington DC
Yes!! After a lot of work, and endless hours of labour, finally I arrived in Washington DC. Enjoy, rate and subscribe.
Goin' Home Reagan Departure Ceremony
President Ronald Reagan Departure Ceremonies in Washington, DC June 11, 2004. Goin Home is performed by the United States Air Force Band.
The arrangement is by Jari Villanueva
The arrangement of “Goin’ Home” was used in the movie Clear and Present Danger and filmed at Andrews AFB in January, 1994. The scene depicts an arrival ceremony after several Americans are killed in Colombia.
A little history:
The tune is based on the slow movement of Dvorak's New World Symphony (No. 9 in e minor). I had always loved the melody that is said to have been based on a Negro folk song Dvorak had heard while traveling through the United States in the late 19th century. It was arranged for the USAF Band for use at Arlington for funerals needing a more secular song (the band is careful to play the proper hymns for Protestant, Catholic, Jewish and non-denominational services) and this one filled the bill. It was actually inspired after watching the TV movie, “Franklin and Eleanor” which recreated the train departure of President Roosevelt from Warm Springs GA after his sudden death. The scene of the Black Naval musician singing and playing Going Home and the use of the melody as transitional material spiked an emotion in me. I did the arrangement along with a companion selection, Amazing Grace in the late 1980s.
The USAF Band starting using it on a regular basis at Arlington and other service bands requested the arrangement from us for their own use.
The arrangement was played by the US Army Band (Pershing’s Own) at the service at the Tomb of the Unknowns in May, 1998 when the Vietnam Unknown was exhumed for testing. (The remains were later identified as USAF 1st Lt Michael Joseph Blassie) It was used because there was no religion attached to the Unknown and they wanted a secular piece of music.
When Clear and Present Danger was produced they wanted to film a full honors arrival ceremony at Andrews and I was delighted when they chose Going Home. On the day of the filming in January,1994 it was so bitter cold that the band did not sound as good as it could, so a few weeks after the filming the Ceremonial Brass recorded it for the soundtrack. My big disappointment was that I did not receive a credit for the arrangement in the end. I believe they just acknowledged the Military District of Washington in the closing credits.
Fast forward to June, 2004 when President Ronald Reagan passed. The band received the word that the family liked the music and wanted it played at his funeral. So the USAF Band played it at the departure ceremony as President Reagan's remains left Washington for the last time. And in 2007, it was again performed for Presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush at their departure ceremonies at Andrews.
That Going Home is still played at Arlington at funerals means so much to me and I am honored to have this little musical legacy. Of all the music I've been associated with this one arrangement is the one I'm most proud. Being associated and working with the USAF Band and the USAF Honor Guard at ANC is another proud thing in my life.

STORYLINE:
After a 10.5 million dollar make-over, the Washington Monument is reopening with fresh mortar, unchipped stones, extra security measures and a new elevator offering tourists an inside view of the marble obelisk.
The aging U.S. landmark on Washington DC's National Mall has been under renovation since 1998.
Friday's ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the first time visitors could enter the monument since December, 2000.
An oberservation deck atop the 555-foot (166 meter) tall monument affords vistors spectacular views of the city, and its landmarks, including the White House and the Pentagon.
The refurbished elevator ride gives visitors a new look at the monument, which is hollow in the center with a stairwell and elevator shaft.
Just before descending the final 100 feet (30 meters) in the elevator, tourists can watch as a park ranger throws a switch that slows the cab down and turns its walls from opaque to clear.
Commemorative stones from the 50 states adorning the inside of the monument become visible outside the elevator windows.
Before this week, the stones could be seen only by walking up or down some of the monument's 897 steps.
The reopening of the monument -- where work began in 1845 and continued until 1884 -- coincides with the 270th birthday of George Washington, the first U.S. president.
Most of the added security was planned after the bombings of two U.S. embassies in East Africa in 1998.
New measures include an airport-style X-ray machine and metal detectors, barriers to protect against possible car or truck bombers and an interim screening facility.
As a result of the Sept. 11 attacks, the Park Service increased the number of guards at the monument.
Visitors will be confined to groups of 25 and must get free tickets at a nearby kiosk before heading to a new screening facility at the base of the monument.
Washington's tourist industry, which provides the city with needed revenue, has struggled since September 11.
Washington's mayor, Anthony Williams was present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and welcomed the re-opening of the monument, along with the recent re-opening of the White House to a few limited tourists.
Also present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony was US Secretary of the Interior, Gale Norton.

Washington's Tidal Basin has a flooding problem
(4 Apr 2019) Washington's cherry blossom season has gone well this year, as warm spring weather has perfectly coincided with the blooming season that draw hundreds of thousands of visitors each spring.
But officials are claiming that Washington's iconic cherry blossom trees are under a looming threat that requires emergency action.
Decades of wear and tear from foot traffic, combined with rising sea levels and a deteriorating sea wall, have created a chronic flooding problem in the Tidal Basin--the manmade 107-acre reservoir that borders the Jefferson Memorial and is home to the highest concentration of cherry blossom trees.
Now the National Park Service, along with the Trust for the National Mall, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation, is launching a campaign to save the Tidal Basin.
In addition to rebuilding the battered sea wall and addressing the flooding problem, the groups seek to improve walkways and update security systems.
Twice a day at high tide, a large stretch of sidewalk next to the Jefferson Memorial is submerged by the rising waters.
During the heavy rains that routinely occur in Washington, the floodwaters completely overflow the sea wall in multiple locations and soak the tree roots.
Teresa Durkin, senior project director of the Trust for the National Mall, said the higher silt concentration of the floodwaters is shortening the lifespans of the hundreds of cherry blossom trees that ring the basin.
It's several and many factors all contributing to the failure right now but it's something that's happening now rather very urgently and we need to, we need to address it now, Durkin said.
Early estimates are that the rehabilitation project would require as much as $500 million, with organizers seeking a combination of government funding and private donations.
The organizations are partnering with American Express, which is funding the creation of the Tidal Basin Ideas Lab and inviting architectural and landscape design firms to submit proposals for replacing the sea wall and refurbishing and modernizing the entire area.
Sean Kennealy, the chief of professional services for the National Park Service's National Mall and Memorial Parks division, said the original 1880s design of the Tidal Basin simply wasn't equipped to handle the kinds of crowds and traffic the area now receives.
That traffic has only increased as more monuments have been added to the Tidal Basin area over the years.
Even without the worsening flooding problem, Kenneally said the entire network of sidewalks and pathways needs to be expanded to accommodate the modern visitor numbers.
This area just can't accommodate the millions of visitors that we have, Kennealy said.

Game Information:
Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is an online action role-playing video game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. The sequel to Tom Clancy's The Division, the game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 15, 2019.
Seven months after the Green Poison outbreak, the Agent is defending a civilian settlement when they receive a Division distress call from Washington D.C. The Agent journeys down to the city where the Division and the remains of the local Joint Task Force have set up their base of operations in the White House. Manny Ortega, the Division controller for D.C., instructs the Agent to work with Agent Kelso to help civilian settlements, fight bandit groups like the Hyenas, True Sons, and Outcasts and restore the SHD network which was gone offline. Meanwhile, Ortega and Kelso uncover information that a cure to Green Poison might be stored inside the United States Capitol, and that President Ellis may have survived the crash of Air Force One and is being held by one of the city's factions. Kelso is reluctant to waste time and resources to rescue Ellis, but Ortega points out that his security clearance may be needed to access the cure.
The Agent continues to work to liberate city districts when they find and rescue Ellis from Hyena custody. Ellis confirms that a cure to not just Green Poison, but all viral infections, exists but he can only access it with a special briefcase. However, the briefcase is in the possession of the True Sons who are holding it in the Capitol. With the Capitol too fortified to assault yet, the Agent works to strengthen the Division's forces while continuing to weaken the other factions. Eventually, the Agent is able to restore the SHD Network, connecting all Division agents nationwide and Ellis promises to restore the United States no matter the cost. With the tide turning against them, the Hyenas, True Sons, and Outcasts retreat to their final strongholds.
With the help of civilian survivors and the JTF, the Agent assaults the strongholds and is able to eliminate the leadership of all of the factions while recovering Ellis' briefcase. However, as the Agent and the Division celebrate their victory, a new faction, the technologically advanced private security contractor Black Tusk, invades the city. Many of D.C.'s landmarks are quickly seized and Ellis goes missing, leaving the Agent to head out once again to repel the Black Tusk invasion.

Antarctic Treaty 1871 Henry Campbell Black Martyn Robert DC USA Corp Act Organic
the Antarctic Treaty System (ATS) was the first Cold War arms control agreement & it expires in 2048
A treaty is “an agreement formally signed, ratified, OR adhered to between two nations or sovereigns;
OR
an international agreement concluded between two or more states in written form and governed by international law”.
Treaties sometimes include provisions for self-termination, & or automatically terminated if certain defined conditions are met.
Some treaties are intended by the parties to be only temporarily binding and are set to expire on a given date , some do not
treaties do not have to include an expiration
In private law, the word “treaty” signifies the discussion of terms immediately before the conclusion of a contract or other transaction.
example = A warranty on the sale of goods, to be valid, must be made during the “treaty” preceding the sale
the united states capital originally Formed from land donated by Maryland & Virginia , with their own laws & made from the citys of Washington & Georgetown & Washington County
1846 Alexandria County was returned to the state of Virginia so all it was was part of Maryland
the District of Columbia Organic Act of 1871 changed the remainder into the District of Columbia territorial government or enclave as a way to detach the federal government from the governed to prevent conflict of interest
Federal districts can include capital districts, and they exist in various federations worldwide
A federal district is a type of administrative division of a federation & can be organized with a single municipal body under the direct control of a federal government
EXAMPLE = the U.S. federal court system divides America into
federal judicial districts & regional federal judicial circuits
BUTT
this did not create 2 separate united states or suspended anything in favor of a Vatican or Corporation
Robert's Rules of Corporations does not exist as a book or work of any kind BUT Henry Martyn
Robert's Rules of order written by a U.S. Army officer in 1876 & NOT a lawyer & is not the law

Capitis Diminuto in Latin as used in Roman law, referred to the extinguishing, either in whole or in part, of a person's former status and legal capacity,
Capitis Deminutio Maxima = The greatest, capitis deminutio maxima, loss of liberty, citizenship, and family , made a slave , prisoner of war etc
is NOT performed through the use of capitalization. & is nowhere in Black's dictionary &
the literal translation for Capitis Deminutio is diminished capacity or legally incompetent
we are not the Roman Empire and are not governed by Ancient Rome or the Vatican ,
it was an ancient legal term used during time of the Roman Empire & no longer used at all, &
the use of all caps on pleadings it is for emphasis only & or it is easier to read as

USA: WASHINGTON: PRESIDENT CLINTON RACE RELATIONS SPEECH
English/Nat
With the holiday season approaching, U-S President Bill Clinton is shifting his national dialogue on race relations into higher gear.
On Sunday he told the congregation of a predominantly black church in Washington D-C that Americans of all ethnic backgrounds must consider themselves members of one family.
Easing tensions between the races is one of the goals Clinton hopes to accomplish during his second term in office.
With Christmas just weeks away, U-S President Bill Clinton took his fight to ease racial tensions in America to a Baptist church in Washington D-C.
As the next century looms, many feel the nation that prides itself on being a melting pot of races is now more of a nation divided according to skin colour.
One of Clinton's goals for his second term in office is improving race relations.
And on Sunday, the man who spent much time in churches during his presidential campaign looked at home in the pulpit.
The lifelong Baptist told members of the black congregation that Americans are at a crossroads and must decide whether they will stand together.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
We have to decide whether we are members -- one or the other. `Is my destiny caught up with yours? Or your children my children? Do you care about my daughter? Are we part of the same family of God?' It is not enough to say we are all equal in the eyes of God -- we are also connected in the eyes of God.
SUPER CAPTION: US President Bill Clinton
During his short speech, Clinton also said he wants the federal government to be a better neighbour to the mainly black District of Columbia.
While he didn't offer any specifics, he said he wants the schools to work better, the streets to be safer and the neighbourhoods to be strong and full.
Washington has a reputation as a city beleaguered by crime and financial woes -- but the U-S president said he hopes to change all of that.
Promising to leave the city in better shape than he found it, Clinton also said he wants the District to be able to run its own affairs.
The city's finances are now controlled by a federally appointed board.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
But I want to say to you that I come here at this Christmas season -- to say that I hope one of the gifts that I and our administration can leave for the 21st Century, is a national capital that is a shining city on a hill for all Americans. That every American is proud of.
SUPER CAPTION: US President Bill Clinton
Clinton is trying to start a dialogue on race relations by moderating a series of town hall meetings throughout the country.
