Spectacular Visit to -- GILI TRAWANGAN -- Indonesia
Our summer trips collided on the Gili Island of Trawangan, where Mario, Abraham and myself enjoyed 3 days of snorkeling, flying the drone and partying on this beautiful island.
No cars or motorized vehicles are allowed on the island. There is no Police on the island either. Just laid back locals, excited tourists, and a marine life that will take your breath away!
If you do visit, or enjoy marine life anywhere on the planet remember to be respectful with your surroundings. Don't touch what mustn't be touched and be mindful to never leave anything harmful behind!

Gili Trawangan on a budget, local food and good vibes at Indonesia's Gili islands.
Gili T tour guide for a week, eating our way through the warungs and street vendors' produce.
My task was to show off my favourite Indonesian island on a tight budget. The meals were on average $2 AUD, so you can definitely afford to travel long and slow when you get into the local cuisine! :)
Get to this little Lombok paradise island ASAP. So quick and easy to get to from Bali too.

I really enjoyed this private pool in my bungalow, especially since the upgrade was free (because I complained about the pool being closed for renovation). However, I found service from the staff here to be sorely lacking. I will try somewhere new on my next trip to this beautiful island.

This vlog was made in 2018 before the big earthquake that devastated Gili and Lombok.
In this video we checked out of the idoop hotel in Mataram city on Lombok island. We slept great, and the bed was extra large. We headed to the very nice local restaurant called Lesehan Ijo Gading. We had our very own peaceful hut to eat in. The food was incredible, with even fresh coconut water. The total bill was only 100,000rp.
After the delicious dinner, we ordered a taxi on the Grab app and headed to Bangsal ferry terminal to get to Gili Islands. On the way, we stopped for durian and tuak (coconut wine) to take to Gili. The public ferry took us to Gili Trawangan for 20,000rp each.

Bali and Gili Trawangan - Backpacking through Indonesia!
In September 2015 we were in Indonesia, precisely in Bali and Gili Trawangan. We made a video about our trip including temples, ricefields, kecak dance, surfers, beaches, sunsets and monkeys. It was our first time in Indonesia.
Our stops: Legian, Ubud, Gili T and Jimbaran. Our highlights were all the beautiful sunsets like at Tanah Lot or Uluwatu Temple.

After two days of incredible adventure and having fun, we set our sights back to the main island of Bali, which isn't without a few roadblocks and comical moments along the way. We drive up to Sanur to our new villa, where we'll be bunking for 12 days.
