Helicopter ride over Wisconsin Dells and Devil's Lake
Helicopter ride with Fly High WI pilot Eric Petersen out of Baraboo airport. Flying over Wisconsin Dells and Devil's Lake in a Robinson R44 Raven1. My first flight, it was awesome! This is just part of the flight, but includes the takeoff and landing.

I've used the AXN Clouds and HD keychain camera. Flight time was about 20 minutes, winds 10-15 miles gusting more up high sunny beautiful day. Location is Monk's parking lot. If you visit Wisconsin Dells, there are plenty of places where you can fly your airplane.

Reedsburg - A Hub of Fun for Everyone
In the middle of the Driftless Area in central Wisconsin lies the city of Reedsburg, a city whose natural beauty offers some pretty breathtaking views and plenty of outdoor adventure! Hosts Mariah Haberman and Eric Paulsen take in all this growing community has to offer, starting with The Baraboo River. As the longest, free-flowing river in the country, the Baraboo River is spectacular for canoeing and kayaking, as Eric learns when he tackles the Lazy Beaver Canoe & Kayak race before taking to the skies in a helicopter at the Reedsburg Rotary Fly-in/Drive-in Breakfast. Meanwhile, Mariah heads downtown for Reedsburg Uncorked, a springtime wine walk where visitors can sip and sample their way through Reedsburg's numerous shops. Next, Mariah heads to Butterfest, Reedsburg's iconic summer festival, and plays a round of Bossy Bingo, which puts an...unusual twist on the classic game! Eric wraps up his trip with a visit to the Pioneer Log Village, where he learns about the daily life of Reedsburg's original settlers (dressed in traditional, pioneer garb, of course!), before diving in to the area's agricultural heritage with a look inside the studio of a local barn quilt artist. From outdoor recreation to some good, old fashioned country traditions, it's easy to see why Reedsburg is a hub of fun for everyone!

Around the Corner with John McGivern | Program | West Bend (#506)

Wow! West Bend totally surprised us. Yes, we know it's only an hour northwest of Milwaukee, but we didn't know that this city has it all - and then some.
West Bend is home to some true Wisconsin treasures. Where else are you going to find a fire fighting apparatus collection, a private zoo complete with celebrity bears named Lewis and Clark AND world class trombone musicians and craftsmen that will show you how they make trombones?
John made some treasured memories too as he made soap, pickled watermelon rinds (and ate them, too --- truly yummy!), nosed around a fantastic downtown residence that used to be a hardware store and took orders at the local custard and burger shop. The girls at A Conversation Piece really got him talking, and the gigantic painting at the spectacular Museum of Wisconsin Art left him speechless.
As John said, we're so glad that West Bend is close to Milwaukee because we love West Bend!

Wittman Tailwind stall & crash after takeoff,
The private pilot was departing for a local flight in the experimental, amateur-built Wittman Tailwind. The airplane attained a nose-high attitude after takeoff and the wings rocked left and right during the initial climb. After a brief period of straight and level flight, the airplane entered a steep left turn with a nose-high attitude. The left wing dropped, and the airplane entered a nose-down spin that continued to ground impact.
