We had one full day in Zurich, Switzerland, and I wanted to make the most of it by going on a Swiss food tour, eating as much food as possible, and walking around and seeing some of the most famou sights and attractions in the beautiful city of Zurich.
Here are all the details about everything you’ll find in this video:
Zürich, Switzerland
Café Henrici - To begin the day for Swiss breakfast, we stopped to have a cup of coffee, and also I wanted a croissant, but they were all out of the morning already, so I settled for a few small slices of bread. It was excellent.
Total price for 3 people - 24.40 CHF ($25.75)
Lindenhof Hill - This is a great place to get a view over Old Zurich, and it puts the city into perspective and helps you get your bearings, and the views are beautiful.
Swiss Chuchi - Thank you to Marcel for this recommendation. In Switzerland for a single day, I needed to eat one of the most well known of all Swiss food, cheese fondue. At Swiss Chuchi restaurant, we enjoyed both cheese fondue and raclette, both of which were excellent and the most cheese I’ve had in a single meal in a very long time.
Total price - 126 CHF ($132.98)
That included all I ate, and 2 other plates of food.
Grossmünster - This church is one of the most recognizable landmarks of Zurich. For a small fee, you can pay to climb to the top of the tower for an amazing view.
Price - 4 CHF ($4.22)
Lake Zurich - The city of Zurich is surrounds Lake Zurich, which is unbelievably clean and pure.
Kronenhalle Restaurant - This is one of the most legendary and classic restaurants in all of Zurich, Switzerland. I didn’t realized it was so expensive and so high end, but we decided to go for it anyway, because I was looking forward to trying their Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, the most well known of all Zurich Swiss food dishes consisting of thin sliced potato paired with veal stew. It’s quite a stunning dish and the version at Kronenhalle Restaurant was absolutely stunning.
Total price - 126 CHF ($132.98)
Bahnhofstrasse Shopping street
Rheinfelder Bierhalle - To finish off this ultimate Swiss food tour of Zurich in a single day we went to Rheinfelder Bierhalle, a beer hall and restaurant in Zurich. I ordered their specialty, Jumbo Jumbo Cordon Bleu. Cordon bleu is another one of the Swiss food dishes you don’t want to miss when you’re in Zurich.
Thank you very much for watching this Swiss food tour!

Food Zurich: TOP 10 Swiss Restaurants in Zurich
These are my carefully selected 10 fine and dine restaurants, street food and snacks at food festivals and bars in Zurich, Switzerland which you can easily visit by rental bicycle like Seebad Enge, world's oldest vegetarian restaurant Haus Hiltl and Läderach. Subscribe to my channel ► for weekly videos!
Kick off your food adventure in biggest city of Switzerland by renting a bike to easily get around town. Start at the magical pool & bar Seebad Enge in the middle of lake Zurichsee.
For brunch I highly recommend dropping by Haus Hiltl, the oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world founded in 1898. Now, I am far from becoming vegetarian but after eating here I could easily switch to a vegetarian lifestyle for the rest of my life.
The best view of the city can either be enjoyed from the Lindenhof or the rooftop of the Widder Hotel of which you can easily see the 3 iconic churches of Zurich; Grossmünster, Fraumünster and St Peter.
Over 100 food stands and trucks selling a host of culinary delicacies from all over the world regularly come together to take part in the Street Food Festival and takes place during the second week of September. Go in the evening to mingle with the locals and get to know the city customs.
After returning your bike head over for drinks at the Widder Bar, the largest whisky bar in Zurich and total laidback atmosphere. Try the crazy pineapple cocktail, that is one heavy drink!
Another great place for dinner and drinks is the 25hours Hotel, a laidback spot on the west-side of Zurich. Make sure to try their magnificent hummus.
In conclusion, Zurich can be a very expensive city, it is considered the MOST EXPENSIVE CITY IN THE WORLD, the places we ate at were pricey but places like the Street Food Festival are the cheaper alternatives and you still get a good impression of the Swiss food culture. In the future I will release another article on how to do Switzerland on a budget, stay subscribed to my YouTube channel until then.

Zeughauskeller is probably one of the most legendary and well known restaurants and beer halls in all of Zurich, Switzerland - it's the type of restaurant you have to eat at when you visit, not only because of the food, but because of the history and importance of the restaurant.
They serve a menu full of all sorts of Swiss food, but I chose to order their Kalbsgeschnetzeltes nach Zürcher Art. This is a specific Swiss Zurich food of rosti, fried potatoes, with veal stew. It was pretty awesomely delicious. I enjoyed it.
Prices are a little steep as with most restaurants in Switzerland.
Total bill for 3 people - 108.50 CHF ($113.98)

SWISS CHOCOLATE | ????????Things to do in Zurich, Switzerland
A quick day, and an overnight layover, in Zurich, Switzerland - known as one of the most expensive cities in the world! So, what are some things to do in Zurich, Switzerland (during a layover)?
Thankfully our good friend Patrick took care of my layover and becoming my Zurich Travel Guide!
I started off right and got myself the Zurich Card, which gives you a free access and discounts to many Zurich Attractions, as well as to public transportation!
For more on Zurich Card:
I met up with our good friends Patrick and Julia, who lives in Herrliberg - a small, affluent community by the Lake Zurich shore. It is simply a beautiful place - and after catching up with them, Patrick and I hopped onto the Lake Zurich ferry to get back to the city center to start a small walking tour in Zurich.
There are several things to see in Zurich, including Paradeplatz and Bahnhofstrasse. In the train station, I managed to check out the two famous Swiss chocolate shops - Sprüngli and Chocolatier Läderach.
I got three truffles to taste from Läderach Bahnhofstrasse. All are very tasty and rich.
For more on Läderach, here's their website:
For dinner, I visited Zurich's most famous vegetarian restaurant, the Hiltl Zurich. The food selection was quite impressive and eclectic - and all of the dishes are vegetarian. Don't forget to weight your plate before sitting down for correct charging.

A Winter Day Trip in Zurich ~ Where to find a Cheap Meal
Welcome to Mieer Travel Tips and your quick guide to Zurich, Switzerland. Come join us as we take a day trip through wintery Zurich and go for a tram ride to explore the city and visit the Christmas Market. Switzerland is extremely expensive so bring lots of money if you want to stay more than a day. The city can best be seen by Tram, especially on a wet, rainy and snowy day. So grab an all-zone day pass for about 13 Francs (~$17 CDN) per person and ride the train to the airport, and as many trams as you can around the city.
You will find hotel food so expensive that a simple breakfast for two will cost you ~ $80 CDN, dinner for two ~ $120 - $150 CDN, at the very least. A hot chocolate and tart about $17 CDN. But we found one smart little restaurant where you can share a whole roasted chicken with fries, salad and drinks for about $35 CDN. Activities like a mountain tour to Pilatus or other snow adventures will set you back at least $300 per person plus meals. Enjoy before it really gets out of hand…

Switzerland Travel: How Expensive is ZURICH? & City Tour
Zurich Switzerland Street Market
Zurich Switzerland Street Market
Zürich is home to one of Switzerland’s most vibrant market scenes, selling everything from vintage clothing to fresh fruits and vegetables and antiques. Here’s our guide to some of Zürich’s best markets, whether you’re an early bird looking to strike a bargain or just want to stroll around the aisles.
Here is the link to another video about Zurich.
There are many markets in Zurich - from fruit and vegetable markets with farmers selling their own fresh produce to flea markets with all sorts of stuff.
Fruit & Veg Market Rathausbrücke
Small market that takes place every Saturday morning. On offer: fruit and vegetables, flowers and plants, bread from the Swiss canton of Appenzell, specialities from the German region Bavaria and more.
Weekly markets have a long tradition both in the city and in the region around Zurich. Here you can find fresh vegetables, choice meat from regional farmers, and freshly baked bread straight from the oven.
Thanks to the top-quality products on sale, the markets are a source of inspiration and point of purchase for numerous Zurich gastronomes. The produce is bought by many professional chefs directly from the market and ends up as mouthwatering menus served at restaurants in the city and around Lake Zurich.
A visit to the farms in the region is also well worthwhile, for often they sell fresh produce in their own farm shops.
The weekly flower and vegetable market is held where tourism originated in Zurich – at the spot where Goethe and Mozart enjoyed the city as the gateway to the Alps. The Rathausbrücke was also the site of a market long ago – which is why the locals still call it the “Gemüsebrücke” (Vegetable Bridge).
Looking for a flea market? Zurich to Geneva, most towns and cities have a weekly produce market, great for picking up fruit and vegetables straight from the grower, freshly-baked bread and any number of local specialities from alpine cheese to meringues. But you'll also find beautiful flower stalls, trendy food markets where you can eat on site such as Zurich's Markthalle, and flea markets stuffed with antiques, bric-a-brac and vintage clothes. Whatever you're looking for, have a browse through our pick of Switzerland's best markets.
Good things come to those who get up early, so rise at 6 am on Tuesdays or Fridays and take a morning walk to Helvetiaplatz. Its market offers fresh fruit and veggies, cheese and local specialties - and of course the prettiest seasonal flowers in town. Old and young alike are seen strolling past the market stalls. Watch out for stalls selling seedlings for your urban garden in spring and summer.
Following is the list of most famous flea and street markets in Zurich.
1. Flea Market Bürkliplatz
2. Bahnhofmarkt
3. Helvetiaplatz-Markt
4. Kanzlei Flea Market
5. Rosenhof Market
6. Mercatino Rimini
Food Tour through Zurich-West
On the culinary guided walk through Zurich’s western quarter, inquisitive foodies can become acquainted with Zurich’s cuisine and sample many local specialties along the way.
