Nepal: Forever Green
Concerned with rampant forest destruction in Nepal, the Government handed over much of the national forest estate to local communities. Throughout the country, local people then embarked on a massive project to turn scrubland back into forest. Through careful planning and community dedication, the forests have been revived and funds accumulated for community development. But many challenges remain, not least in trying to keep younger generations involved.
BBC Documentary - Living in Nepal #Nomad
BBC Documentary - Living in Nepal
In this first episode, Kate travels to south west Nepal in search of the country's last community of nomads, the Raute people. Almost all of the Raute population has already settled in Nepal and India - just one group of 140 people remain living as nomads. These hunter-gatherers still move camp every few weeks through the steeply wooded hills and mountains in one of the poorest countries on the planet. Life for this last Raute group is increasingly tough, as they face pressure to settle from Nepal's government and hostility from the farmers on whose land they camp.
The Raute are famously private, and it proves a difficult task for Kate to get to know them. At the beginning they are wary, only engaging with her to ask for money. With perseverance and a rather unlikely rendition of Old MacDonald, Kate is slowly accepted into this tightly knit and proud community. But it's a demanding and emotional journey as she witnesses them move ever further from their ancient traditions and encounters first hand the hostility that the Raute face from mainstream Nepali society. As she helps them move camp twice, bearing heavy loads up punishingly steep hills, she comes face to face - and almost fist to fist - with the conflicts and contradictions facing Nepal's last nomads.

Langtang Trek Part 1 ׀ Awesome Tamang Wedding ׀ Adventures in Nepal ׀ Visit Nepal 2020
The Langtang Valley has long been a favorite trek due to its expansive views, interesting Tamang culture, relatively gentle pace and accessibility from Kathmandu. The 2015 earthquake and subsequent landslide had an enormous effect on the region, but aid and reconstruction have recently reopened this valley to trekking again. Not only is it still a beautiful trek, your visit will also provide vital support for local livelihoods.

Nepal 2019: Trekking for my Parents - May update
Where to donate:
Between the years of 2010 and 2014, my brother and I lost both of our parents to Cancer. My mother was able to take advantage of the wonderful health care offered in Great Britain throughout her cancer treatments. I will be forever grateful to the doctors and nurses who not only provide her with care but were gracious, caring and compassionate throughout her fight.
This is something that you never get over. It becomes easier, but you never forget that moment you find out you will never be able to talk to them again.
And it doesn't stop there...the moment you meet your future wife, when you walk down the aisle, you find out you are having kids and when they take their first steps. None of this they will ever see.
What you can do, is help others get through this. Help others cope with this terrible disease or losing a loved one.
I have decided to take part in the Helambu Nepal Trek Feb 9-17, 2019, this a trek raising money for Velindre Cancer Centre, a premier cancer centre in Wales. The money raised will go to things above and beyond what the NHS (UK National Health Service) provides to help this centre deliver the some of the best cancer care in the UK.
If I can just make one person smile in doing this, then that is good with me.

The HIGHEST POINT in Tanahu - Chimkeswari and Hilekharka, Hiking in Nepal
Well, this might be our most delayed video ever. Back in November of 2018, we visited the holy Chimkeshwari Temple and accidentally discovered a beautiful Gurung village, Hilekharka on our way to Bandipur.
Due to a few technical issues, we had been pushing the publish date of this video but finally its here. Both the sunrise and sunset from Chimkeswari is epic. Though short, this trip offers scenic views of the mountains and close glance of the traditional Gurung culture and people.
Special Thanks to Trishna Gurung for giving us the permission to use the cover of her song, Khani ho Yahmu, Dhan Gurung Maila Dai and friends for the Gurung Language Translation, Simma and her team for the beautiful cover, Devilal Baje and Batu Aama for the wonderful hospitality.
Please contact them if you plan to visit Chhimkeswari and Hilekharka

Mt Everest Base Camp. I couldn’t think. I couldn’t breath. 17,000 ft, I’m not even supposed to be here... And I had to make a decision that would define my character forever.
My friend Spencer and his fellow teacher Mike had been planning a trek to Mt Everest Base Camp for months, and when he mentioned 5 days before the trip that I could go since I’m a YouTuber and have the freedom, the only reasons I could think of to not go we’re fear based, so to keep in line with my slogan on my channel and twitch stream, “cowards die first” I had to say yes. I bought a flight to Nepal, borrowed some of their extra gear, and hopped on a plane. I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
I arrived in Kathmandu half a day early, which I preferred, because it gave me time to immerse myself in the culture of Nepal. When I travel, I like to take some alone time to wander around and take it all in, especially in a place with a new language. There’s something wonderful about just seeing a world so different for the first time in all its glory, the locals going about their day and just living. Nepal people are so kind and considerate. As I walked the streets and took in the charming atmosphere, I couldn’t help but get excited, and ask myself questions. Was I ready for this? Was I in good enough shape? I train but not for treks at low oxygen. I’d find out soon enough... the boys arrived, and we slept before getting ready for our first flight. Our Final Destination, Kala Pattar a peak near everest base camp. Namche Bazaar, Tengoboche, Dingboche, Lomboche, would be our trek. Nepal is so beautiful and Kathmandu is charming, but my favorite was Namche Bazaar.

The High Pass: Trekking the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal
The Annapurna Circuit is a trek in central Nepal that climbs to an altitude of 5,400m through Thorung La pass, one of the highest trekking passes in the world, below peaks that rise 6000-8000m in elevation from the Annapurna Range. We attempted to complete the trek in about 15 days starting mid-December of 2013, when the shoulder season promised much smaller crowds but with it a risk of deep snow that early winter can bring to the Pass.
