After closing last December Fort Whoop Up Historic Site re-opened under the new management of The Galt Museum and Archives.

Fort Whoop-up, Lethbridge
Before there was Alberta, there was Whoop-up! The replica Fort dates from the mid eighteen hundreds. It has a rich history that largely defines some of the free-spirited western attitudes that are so characteristic of the Province. Whoop-Up is famous and infamous as a frontier trading post because of alcohol and all the misdeeds typically associated with pioneering and frontiers.
You can find the replica fort in the coulees, near the Oldman River in Lethbridge. Originally it was further downriver.

Fort Whoop-Up Lethbridge/ Population Growth
For WhoopUp was rebuilt north of its original site. The original site fell into disrepair after the owner was shot and killed. It was also subject to floo damage over the years.
