Mustang Trek-Nepal
Until recently the Upper Mustang was one of the most isolated and unexplored corners of the Trans-Himalayan region. Foreign trekkers were first allowed to visit in 1992. Since its opening this region has become a very special destination for trekkers, despite the expensive permit fees compared to other regions. Once Upper Mustang used to be a separate kingdom and still it looks like a kingdom of a different kind, not only because of its topographic uniqueness but also because of its untouched Tibetan culture, people and their traditions. New lodges have made this trek more comfortable these days.
On the Upper Mustang Trek you can explore many places and strange mysterious cave monasteries that are unique to the region. Some places are very ancient and have centuries of history to discover: places like the 2500-year-old Samdzong and Chosar villages or the walled capital city of Lo Manthang. Other ancient monasteries and castles of the 14th century are on the trails, like Luri, Yara and Konchok Ling. Fossils, which are believed to be older than the mountains, probably 3 billion years old, have been found. Colourful and unique rock formations along with canyons carved by the rivers are some of the most eye-catching sights of this region; the rock formations look like a genuine piece of artwork carved by a famous artist. Finally we can witness the lively day-to-day activities of the local people and their festivals.
Canyoning Nepal-Phung Phunge Canyoning,Kakani
Kakani Canyoning Kakani is situated a short drive (30 mins) from Kathmandu offering two wonderful canyons namely Sisneri and Chhare. The canyoning trip can be completed in one day if participants wish to do only one canyon. Otherwise, there are facilities for staying overnight in a locally runcommunity lodge. World class Canyoning Adventure in Phung Phung and Sisneri Jharana of Kakani in Nuwakot are conducted in association with the local people. Those looking for a short escape from the busy hectic life in the capital city can now sneak to a beautiful traditional village of Kakani area – not only for the superb taste of grilled Japanese Trout on a day picnic - BUT for experiencing the newly introduced, exhilarating Canyoning Adventure!!!

LANGTANG AND GOSAINKUNDA TREK
The Langtang region is located north of Kathmandu; to commence the trek one can choose either starting from Sundarijal in Kathmandu itself or from Syabru besi, an 8-9 hour bus-ride from Kathmandu. Langtang is a national park. There are many typical Tamang villages but their culture is more close to Tibetan. One of the main destinations in this trek is Kyanjin Gompa (3720mt) at the foot of Langtang Lirung (7225mt) but there are a lot of options to explore around like hiking up to Tserko Ri 5000mt, Lantang glacier, Langshisa Kharka etc.
The Langtang Trek provides an opportunity to see the Himalayan mountain range from Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh himal on a clear day. Shisapangma (8021mt) lies just behind this Langtang range. This region is quite famous for its rich natural bio-diversity, deciduous forest in lower elevations, and coniferous forest of pine in upper elevations, bamboo bushes, various orchids, medicinal plants, rhododendrons flowers, wild animals and birds are other assets of this region.
Langtang, Gosainkunda and Helambu are the easiest to reach and most accessible from Kathmandu. The scenery is as awe-inspiring as the more traveled routes but with far fewer tourists. The Langtang area was designated Nepal’s first mountainous National Park in 1973 and offers a chance to experience the unique culture and lifestyle of Tamang and Bhotiya people. Helambu is famous for the unique Yolmo ethnicity. Gosainkunda is considered a holy site favored by the Hindu deity Shiva and receives thousands of devotees during the JanaiPurnima festival in August. This area is a great choice for nature lovers and adventurers alike.

My time in Nepal attempting the Everest Base Camp Trek, April 2016
A compilation of photos and some recordings during my trip to Nepal on April 2016.
Captures my time in the following:
-Kathmandu, Nepal
-Everest Base Camp Trek (Lukla to Dingboche only, evacuated due to illness)
-Pokhara, Nepal
-A 10 hour layover in Doha
A big Thank you to everyone who made this possible! From Joey who helped me get started with Friends Adventure Team: Rajendra, Dhan, and Manraj. My friends and family who encouraged me before, throughout, and after the trip. Especially those whom encouraged me when I was really sick, pushed me to keep going one more day and yet had nothing but kind words when I decided to be evacuated. The Murphys because they listened to my planning and I turned their home upside down packing and unpacking. Remie for her crash course on how to use a fancy camera. Folks at REI for their advice on gear. Patrick at Pearl Vision for setting me up last minute with killer prescription shades and for his contagious enthusiasm.
I'm sure I missed some, but please know that my soul is ever so thankful for this experience and everyone who helped even a tiny bit. Looking forward to getting the opportunity to go back and finish what I started.
[Ps. This is my first video..nothing fancy, no fancy effects/transitions, pictures are not edited, compiled in half a day. But I am glad I sat down and did this, I think it captures a lot of the trip from A- to Z. And let's face it, if I didn't do it now, it would have never happened. Looking forwarding to perhaps upping my video making skills for cool trips]

Kathmandu Firetruck Expedition with Sir Randolph Fiennes and Michael Kobold
The Kathmandu Valley is one of the world’s great natural beauties, a secluded locale lying beneath the enormous shadow of Mount Everest, and home to countless world heritage sites. Despite its wealth of natural and historical treasures, the Kathmandu Fire Department has an insufficient number of worn-out & run-down rescue vehicles, all more than half a century old. In order to support the humble civilization nestled in the heart of the valley, a group of explorers passionate about the region have raised funds from around the world to bring two brand new, and much needed, fire engines to Kathmandu.
The explorers will form two expeditionary teams and attempt to drive these two made-in-USA firetrucks five hundred miles from India to Kathmandu, a journey through mountains, jungles, swamps, and steppes; through mud, ice and snow in an effort to explore the region’s beauty while competing against each other to see who arrives first.
The expedition team originally consisted of the late actor James Gandolfini, explorer Sir Randolph Fiennes, and their friend, watchmaker Michael Kobold. After Mr. Gandolfini’s passing, a new team was assembled, consisted of Randolph Fiennes, Michael Kobold, actor Malcolm McDowell, U.S. Ambassador Scott H. DeLisi, Former Miss Nepal Shristi Shrestha, Canadian High-Altitude Mountaineer Heather Geluck, 3 members of the U.S. Navy SEALs, and Martin Hartley, the renowned polar expedition photographer from England.

The HIGHEST POINT in Tanahu - Chimkeswari and Hilekharka, Hiking in Nepal
Well, this might be our most delayed video ever. Back in November of 2018, we visited the holy Chimkeshwari Temple and accidentally discovered a beautiful Gurung village, Hilekharka on our way to Bandipur.
Due to a few technical issues, we had been pushing the publish date of this video but finally its here. Both the sunrise and sunset from Chimkeswari is epic. Though short, this trip offers scenic views of the mountains and close glance of the traditional Gurung culture and people.
Special Thanks to Trishna Gurung for giving us the permission to use the cover of her song, Khani ho Yahmu, Dhan Gurung Maila Dai and friends for the Gurung Language Translation, Simma and her team for the beautiful cover, Devilal Baje and Batu Aama for the wonderful hospitality.
Please contact them if you plan to visit Chhimkeswari and Hilekharka
