GREMO NAPREJ! FOTOGRAFIJA v SLOVENIJI 1990 - 2015
Dragan Arrigler, Primož Bizjak, Rajko Bizjak, Bojan Brecelj, Jure Breceljnik, Božidar Dolenc, Jure Eržen, Saša Fuis, Boris Gaberščik, Tomaž Gregorič, Irena Herak, Lado Jakša, Manca Juvan, Žiga Koritnik, Peter Koštrun, Miško Kranjec, Branko Lenart, Tomaž Lunder, Milan Pajk, Herman Pivk, Janez Pukšič, Bojan Radovič, Klavdij Sluban, Tone Stojko, Jože Suhadolnik, Jendo Štoviček, Jane Štravs, Aleksandra Vajd & Hynek Alt, Tanja Verlak, Franci Virant, Antonio Živkovič
Within every creative production there is undoubtedly a central development line epitomizing the dominant trends in the medium at a given time and place, accompanied by a host of parallel, equally relevant phenomena and practices that may—and in fact should—be treated and evaluated in accordance with specific criteria and pertinent comparative analyses. Their feasibility, however, rests on a paradigm of continuity allowing us to identify deviations, innovations, alternatives and other production niches that round off the actual photographic constellation. Consequently, this exhibition has primarily been conceived as a critical attempt to expose the mainstream within which Slovenian photography is historicised alongside individual contributions of its makers.
The attitude towards the photographic medium as an autonomous creative practice underwent radical changes at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. Earlier, photography was considered a self-sufficient enclave that did not encroach onto other visual arts. Since the aforementioned years were crucial for many Slovenian photographers as well, it seems only reasonable to open this overview with their subsequent accomplishments. These photographers were followed by the generation born between 1950 and 1960 and then by companions of punk and the alternative scene in general, which filled the (also socially) supercharged eighties with new themes and expressions. Younger artists came to the fore and established themselves in the independent Slovenia. Some of them had pursued their education abroad, others in study programmes that have recently been introduced into various Slovenian colleges and faculties. To this curatorial concept a segment of selected works by some Slovenian photographers who pursue successful careers abroad was added.
Whereas every selection is admittedly subjective, this certainly does not mean that it is also arbitrary. It is, among others, one of the reasons that we have focused on photographers whose artistic identity has been established and confirmed by long years of committed research and self-reflection. The exhibition likewise does not include representatives of the youngest generation still searching for the modalities in which to articulate their own language and often oscillate between trends, paragons and their own aspirations. Their ambitions and achievements would be best revealed by an exhibition styled “Young Slovenian Photography”—provided that someone manages to muster the willpower and courage to develop the concept and bring it to realisation …

Saeta formed in 1977, as the first, and at that time only, group in Slovenia to bring together in its approach organized improvisation, elements of experimental music based on diverse scores, notations, and performance instructions, elements of minimalist (repetitive) music, and live or recorded electroacoustic music of a variety of sound sources. The group has remained faithful to its original approach to this day. Over time, Saeta has become established both at home and abroad, giving concerts in Ljubljana (in the Cankarjev Dom cultural center and as part of the European Month of Culture), in other cities of former Yugoslavia, such as Belgrade (performing at the European Festival of Minimalist Music) and Opatija (at the Music Creativity of Yugoslavia festival), and elsewhere in Europe, e.g. in Paris (at the Biennial of Young Artists) and Graz (at the Steirischer Herbst). In 2002, the group staged the “O-zvočenje 1” event (About-Soundings 1) together with composers from Slovenia, France, and Serbia and Montenegro. It has continued to give “O-zvočenje” concerts ever since.

Iz proizvodnje Gorenja / From Gorenje's manufacturing plant - video Air Force Slovenija II
GALERIJA SLIK / PHOTO GALLERY :
Tip: Smučarski skakalec; Model: Zmagovalec; Narejeno v: Gorenje
V Gorenju so v sodelovanju s Smučarsko zvezo Slovenije kot generalni sponzor slovenskih nordijskih disciplin v podporo promociji svetovnega pokala v smučarskih skokih v Planici, pripravili videospot Air Force Slovenija II, s katerim svetu sporočajo, kako v Gorenju izdelujejo skakalne zmagovalce.
Spot so posneli v proizvodni hali hladilno-zamrzovalnih in pomivalnih aparatov Gorenja v Velenju pred novoletno skakalno turnejo 18. decembra 2013. V videu igra vodjo proizvodnje trener Goran Janus, zmagovalne skakalce v montaži pa Robert Kranjec, Peter Prevc, Jurij Tepeš, Jaka Hvala in Eva Logar. Pri snemanju so kot statisti v videospotu sodelovali tudi zaposleni v Gorenju.
Zgodba videospota pripoveduje kako v Gorenju izdelujejo zmagovalne skakalce.

Type: Winner; Model: Ski Jumper; Made by: Gorenje
Working with the Ski Association of Slovenia, Gorenje -- the general sponsor of Slovenian Nordic Ski Teams -- supported the promotion of the Ski Jumping World Cup event in Planica by participating in the making of the video Air Force Slovenia II, which carries the message of how Gorenje crafts the ski jumping winners.
The video was shot at Gorenje's fridge-freezer and dishwasher plant in Velenje before the New Year's Four Hills Tournament, on December 18, 2013. The video features coach Goran Janus as the head of the plant, and Robert Kranjec, Peter Prevc, Jurij Tepeš, Jaka Hvala and Eva Logar as the winning ski jumpers in the process of production. Also appearing in the video as extras are Gorenje employees.
The story of the video follows the process of production of winning ski jumpers at Gorenje. Crafting of the winners starts at the pre-raw-material department where skis are pressed; this is followed by lacquer coating stage where the helmets are painted; the suits are washed at the sheet metal de-greasing line; logos are laser-engraved into the helmets at the prototype workshop, and boots are made by a 3D printer. The production continues on the assembly line where the winning ski jumpers are first equipped, and next completed at the pick-up point where they are packed, labelled, and dispatched to Planica. A behind-the-scenes video was also produced.
The video was premièred at the Ski Association of Slovenia press conference on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Association's head offices in Ljubljana, following the success of the men's ski jumping team in Kulm where Peter Prevc stole the show as he won his first World Cup competition on Sunday.
