Full tour of the George Bush Presidential Library & Museum in College Station, Texas Part 1
Hi, everybody! I am Emji Boettcher and this is the George Bush Library & Museum in beautiful College Station, Texas. I have gone to every single Presidential Library in operation in the country and have videoed every single display in each one and will be posting a new video every Monday. This just happened to be the first one I worked on and they will be posted in no particular order.
There are 13 existing, operating Presidential Libraries in the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and this is your opportunity to see what each one contains. Michael Smerconish is a radio host and a couple of years ago he had the director from each POTUS Library on the show and he interviewed them by phone on air. This inspired me to actually go to each one and make these videos so that everybody who CAN’T actually go can get a chance to see what is in each one.
The full tour for the Bush 41 library is 2 hours long, so the entire tour has been broken up into clips based upon what is shown in the Museum and is compiled into a YouTube playlist. You will get to see all of the displays, all of the artifacts. I have tried to include everything and if you want to read the displays, I've tried to include most of the verbiage that is posted. You will have to pause the video in order to read the displays.
There is very little, if any, narration during the tour - I want you to experience it as if you were there. I'm not a professional videographer or editor, just a Presidential history buff. The only time I make any comment is when there is something that tickles my fancy. There will be no background music added, just ambient museum sounds.
This clip includes the approach from the parking area, the lobby, the rotunda, the skylight, a display of all of the NARA Libraries, a portrait of George Herbert Walker Bush and George W. Bush, the Lincoln Town Car Limousine, The Beast Limousine of the era with close up detail.
Please like and subscribe, there are a LOT of fun videos coming including one long road trip!

This clip shows a number of the Gifts of State that were given to President and Mrs. Bush. During State Visits (and other visits as well) gifts are traditionally given. This is a few of them. When an American President gives gifts, it's always the best our country has to offer. Tiffany & Co. silver, Steuben crystal, Boehm porcelain, Lenox china, Williamsburg pewter, Judith Leiber handbags, cowboy boots from Rocky Carroll and antique quilts are often chosen. The gifts that are received can be anywhere from a wood ball to a model of a city made completely from 22 karat gold, heck, even a pistol. Can you imagine giving the President of the USA a gun?

This clip includes the time that George H. W. Bush spent as President of The United States of America. POTUS 41 served from 1989 to 1993. There is a giant replica of the White House facade and there is a vignette that is set up as if a State Dinner is being held. There is his formal attire and they change out the gown that Barbara used. This time they had a red, white and blue gown that in person was just a blast. Custom designed by Arnold Scaasi, it sparkled like none other - in the video it doesn't show the beauty unfortunately. The table is set with White House china. There is a copy of President Bush's official portrait and then we have a replica of the Oval Office. It's not a full Oval Office replica, but rather it shows a portion of the room, including his desk which wasn't The Resolute Desk - but he chose to use the C & O Desk named for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway Company that owned the desk first and came to be owned by the government sometime in the 1920's, ship, globe, the Presidential and the American flags and flooring as well as carpeting details.

This is a beautiful museum located near Texas A&M, almost 2 hours drive from Houston. This footage shows mostly the beautiful outside surroundings. The video starts at the gravesite of George H.W. and Barbara's daughter Robin. Apparently, the gravesite is also George and Barbara's future burial plots!

FULL TRAIN RIDE: President George H.W. Bush FINAL RIDE To College Station, Texas
The special funeral train carrying former President George H.W. Bush arrived in College Station, Texas on Thursday -- the last leg of his journey before America's 41st president is laid to rest.
Following a funeral at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston, Bush’s casket – draped in an American flag – was loaded aboard a Union Pacific Locomotive 4141 train car in Spring, Texas.
Former President George W. Bush and his family were among those in attendance at the ceremony, after which they boarded the train.
During the funeral, the elder Bush – who died Friday at age 94 – was remembered for his “decency, boundless kindness and consideration of others” by a longtime friend and former secretary of state, James Baker.
Bush is to be interred on the grounds of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, on the Texas A&M University campus, near his wife, Barbara, and Robin, their daughter who died of leukemia at the age of 3 in 1953.
The train was scheduled to slow down through a number of towns along its roughly 70-mile trip. That included Magnolia, where hundreds of people gathered to see 4141 go by. Crowd members waved flags and cheered as the train arrived.
There have been several other such funeral trains in the nation's history. That includes the one that carried Dwight D. Eisenhower’s body from the National Cathedral in Washington to his Kansas hometown of Abilene several decades ago, according to The Associated Press.
