HOW TO HIKE TO GERGETI TRINITY CHURCH - from Stepatsminda (Kazbegi) in Georgia.
An easy day hike from the town of Stepantsminda up to the impressive Gergeti trinity church, high up the hill overlooking the town. One of Georgia's classic landmark sights!
It normally takes about 2 hours to hike to the church and an hour back down. We made a day of it and continued up further on the trail towards Mt Kazbegi. There is a viewpoint over the glacier and the mountain that makes for a pleasant picnic spot and a great day out.
Another great day out in Georgia that will cost next to nothing!

48hours in Kazbegi, Georgia | Gergeti Trinity Church
I left Tbilisi to explore the rest of Georgia today!! Kazbegi was amazing with glorious mountain views, though I have to say accommodation was rather expensive there as compared to the rest of Georgia. I stayed for 4 nights but only explored for a day, so one day in Kazbegi is definitely enough if you are pressed for time! Unless, you are doing multiple hikes, then maybe 2-3 days would suffice.

One minute travel. Gergeti Trinity Church, Georgia.
Gergeti Trinity Church (Georgian: წმინდა სამება - Tsminda Sameba) is a popular name for Holy Trinity Church near the village of Gergeti in Georgia. The church is situated on the right bank of the river Chkheri (the left tributary of the river Terek), at an elevation of 2170 meters, under Mount Kazbegi.
The Gergeti Trinity Church is built in the 14th century, and is the only cross-cupola church in Khevi province. The separate belltower dates from the same period as the church itself. Its isolated location on top of a steep mountain surrounded by the vastness of nature has made it a symbol for Georgia. The 18th century Georgian author Vakhushti Batonishvili wrote that in times of danger, precious relics from Mtskheta, including Saint Nino's Cross were brought here for safekeeping. During the Soviet era, all religious services were prohibited, but the church remained a popular tourist destination. The church is now an active establishment of the Georgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church
The church is a popular waypoint for trekkers in the area, and can be reached by a steep 3 hour climb up the mountain, or around 30 minutes by jeep up a rough mountain trail.

Sorry guys for this video because the audio wasn't that good due to extreme wind in the mountains of Kazbegi Region. And for the clarity of the video it was shaky due to am using my mobile and its quite windy thats blowing my hand and start shaking.
