Beautiful Teton Glacier Turnout, Wyoming USA Road Trip
Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
This is part of our 2018 roadtrip from Denver to Seattle.
In this episode we visit Grand Tetons National Park.
We did some amazing hike to moose ponds (no moose overthere) and walk around Jenny Lake to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. From there we took the shuttle boat back. On our way back we saw a big bull moose on the banks of Lake Jenny.
Our second hike in Tetons was the Heron Pond and Swan Lake loop with 2 beautiful lakes. On this hike we had a close bear encounter. A mama black bear with 2 (or 3) cubs. We kept a safe distance!

Teton Range from the East
This is a view of the Teton Range, in the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, from the Mountain view turnout (I think). One of the impressive things about the Tetons is how they suddenly rush skyward from the Jackson Hole valley floor, on the other side of several lakes, with minimal foothills. Very beautiful! Sorry about the wind sounds - my digital camera doesn't handle them well. June 2009.

I'm still so in awe of all the beautiful things we saw on our trip, and I can't wait to go back again sometime! Wyoming is such a gorgeous place.

Jackson Hole
Jackson Hole, originally called Jackson's Hole, is a valley located in the U.S. state of Wyoming, near the western border with Idaho. The name hole derives from language used by early trappers or mountain men, who primarily entered the valley from the north and east and had to descend along relatively steep slopes, giving the sensation of entering a hole. These low-lying valleys are surrounded by mountains and contain rivers and streams, which were good habitat for beaver and other fur-bearing animals.
