Glencar Waterfall - County Leitrim - Ireland
Glencar Waterfall is situated near Glencar Lake, 11 kilometres west of Manorhamilton, County Leitrim. It is particularly impressive after rain and can be viewed from a lovely wooded walk. There are more waterfalls visible from the road, although none is quite as romantic as this one.

Water is a favoured element of mine... so this kind of behaviour is to be expected (but not recommended!) from time to time.
The cameraman is standing looking almost side-on to the fall. This means he can see me quite clearly through the inner 'sheet' of the fall (the water which plumments vertically from the ledge overhead).
However, someone looking from the official viewing platform above would have had difficulty making me out through the c12-18 thick wall of water falling outward from the ledge.
This was Glencar Waterfall early in November 2006 after a few weeks of relative dryness (by Irish standards that is!). So the volume of water was mild by it's normal standards and there was little chance of pulsing surges like one can see during during/after heavy rains. You can some sense of these and the volume of water moving from other other youtube videos (for example 5:08 in 'Glencar cottage' and 4:00 in 'A wet week in Sligo').
The camera used was a very basic digital photo camera and the cameraman was standing about 15ft from the edge of the waterfall. It captured the high speed of the falling water quite well and the wind-ruffle was entirely due to air being moved by the falling water (the day was one of those cold, dry still one's we get in early Winter here). And of course it was never going to do justice to the deep base sound of the water thumping into a pool carved out of the rock over centuries.
In fact, I doubt very much that any artifical device could...
