Glenfinnan Railway Station Museum & Viaduct ~ 14th July 2017
On Friday 14th July 2017, as well as seeing The Jacobite Steam Excursion, I took a brief look at the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct and Monument, which was brief due to the very heavy rain. Then, I went inside the Glenfinnan Railway Station Museum, which focuses on the construction of 'The Road to the Isles' and the viaduct.
Outside in the Station Yard, are a camping coach (or sleeping car), a dining car, a snowplough, and a yard crane.
Hogwarts Express on the Glenfinnan Viaduct in Scotland
We waited patiently to capture the Harry Potter train crossing the Glenfinnan Viaduct in the stunning Scottish Highlands.

'The Jacobite' Steam Rail-Tour & Scottish Bagpipe Music @ Glenfinnan ~ 14th July 2017
On Friday 14th July 2017, enroute to the Isle Of Skye, I took a diversion to visit Glenfinnan Railway Station where, by chance, I was in good time to see 1949-built LNER Peppercorn K1 Class 2-6-0 No. 62005 come into the platform with 'The Jacobite' steam excursion bound for Mallaig, on 'The Road to the Isles'.
After a passenger service train came into the opposite platform, No. 62005 moved forward to allow the passengers to get off to visit the Station Museum. Bagpipe music was performed by a young girl to welcome the passengers as well as the departure of the train.

British Trains 13 - Fort William to Mallaig Jacobite steam and Bo'ness and Kenneil railway 1999
a video of steam, July 1999, summer as you can tell by the weather.
Firstly, sorry about the low res of this clip, as unfortunately it is what was recoverable from a 15 year old video tape.
the first clip is a trip on the Bo'ness and Kinneil railway, which is home to the Scottish railway preservation society.
the second clip was a trip on the Jacobite steam service from Fort William to Mallaig.
filmed over 2 days, the first day on the train, then the second day, chasing by car. the weather for the 2 days was wet, but thats Scotland. this does mean, that the B1 did slip a bit in the rail as there are steep grades and sharp curves over the route. one of the first clips is the train traversing the swing bridge go the caledonian canal, at the bottom of Neptunes staircase locks which are a series of 8 locks built by Thomas Telford between 1803 and 1822. i suspect i had a flat battery on the camera which was why there was no running into Mallaig clip or anything on the return, and on the chase day, i just couldn't get to the station before arrival
locos are north British Maude 65243 at Bo'ness, and Thompson B1 number 1264 on the Jacobite
some locations on this route were used in the Harry Potter movies, for example, shots of trains at Glenfinnan on the viaduct
B1 1264 is owned by the Thompson B1 Locomotive trust and was also allocated the number 61264 under the BR numbering scheme

UK drone demo
This was one of the first times I had flown a drone. It was a fun experiment and some of the shots came out rather well. The last shot, of the Harry Potter train on the Glenfinnan Viaduct was pure luck. More about my work at rickrayfilms.com and stock footage licensing available at dvarchive.com.
Outer Hebrides, Isle of Harris, Lewis, Great Bernera, Isle of Skye & Glenfinnan Viaduct
We decided on a trip up to the Outer Hebrides a couple of weeks ago. Managed to fit in 4 islands over 4 days:
Isle of Skye
Isle of Harris
Isle of Lewis
Great Bernera
Some great beaches and sights on those islands including the Callanish Standing Stones and the harbour town of Stornoway.
Also caught the Harry Potter train going over Glenfinnan Viaduct on our way home.
The Outer Hebrides is a great place and I would highly recommend a trip there to anyone, we'll definitely be back!
Thanks for watching.

TGauge 'T For Three' Glenfinnan Viaduct Model Railway Layout
In 2009 we made a model featuring Glenfinnan Viaduct to showcase TGauge model railways being available in the UK. We then exhibited the layout up and down the Country at model railway shows. The model itself now resides in the Glenfinnan Station Museum Signal Box and this video is of how we made it.
It's been online for some time now but we thought it was time we put it on our own page so it's easier to find.

Trip to Fort William , Tyndrum, Glencoe, Glen Etive, and Glenfinnan.
It was a sunny day, so we could not resist it. We headed off to Fort William with short stops at Tyndrum, Glencoe, Glen Etive, and Glenfinnan. In Scotland, there is nothing more beautiful than driving throughout the highlands in a sunny day. It was a great day for photography too. رحلة الى الآراضي الآسكوتلندية المرتفعة
