Mountain Gorilla Trekking in RWANDA!!! ???????? ????❤️ TRAVEL VLOG
Meeting the Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda blew my mind! I was paired up with 2 different gorilla families on my treks through the Volcanoes National Park. One of the families was the original family that Diane Fossey studied back in the day! I couldn't believe how close we got. It felt as if they let me right into their world. The gorillas are gorgeous creatures! I hope you love them even more after watching my video.
Every time people visit the Gorillas in Rwanda, money goes towards the conservation of them. The whole process is to raise awareness to protect these amazing animals. There is so much love and respect that the guides and government put into protecting the gorillas. Bc of the efforts, mountain Gorilla numbers are on the rise.
Thanks for watching!!!! I appreciate you taking a look. Lots of Love, Vicki????

Rwanda VLOG// GORILLA TREKKING

How To Plan Gorilla Trekking In Rwanda & Uganda
Gorilla trekking is the world’s most intimate wildlife experience. This video will help you plan an encounter with gorillas in the wild.
Seeing mountain gorillas in the mist is only possible in two destinations. You are allowed one hour with a habituated troop from an “official” distance of seven meters away. Gorilla trekking Rwanda takes place in Volcanoes National Park. Uganda gorilla trekking is possible in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Plan Gorilla Trekking -
Non-hunting safaris protect wildlife -
Trekking is part of the gorilla experience. You go deep into thick, tangle rainforest, walking on trails made by forest elephants. It could take you 30 minutes or four hours to reach the world’s largest primate. Then there’s a moment when time stands still, when you come eye to eye with a wild mountain gorilla. These animals are curious and inquisitive, so they take a good look at their daily visitors. You will remember such intimate moments for a lifetime.
This video condenses a gorilla trek into two minutes. This is what you will see:
0:02 Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda
0:34 Trekking in the rainforest
0:46 Gorillas in Uganda (shiny, short fur)
1:14 Gorillas in Rwanda (longer, shabbier fur)
1:35 Silverback mountain gorilla
Encountering gorillas in the wild is the ultimate wildlife experience, an intimate connection to animals so similar to us. Only 1000 of these mountain gorillas remain and none have ever been made cactive. In the zoo you can only see lowland gorillas, a smaller sub-species. To experience the world’s largest primate you must go gorilla trekking. There is no best time to go, although many people avoid the long rains of March and April – seeing gorillas in the rain is even more spectacular (just not as good for photos).
Rwanda gorilla trekking is the easiest option. You can fly to Kigali, the country’s capital, then it’s a two-hour overland journey to the national park. Stay in a lodge overnight before trekking the next day. Every trekker leaves from the same central trailhead and there is an excellent variety of accommodation nearby. Rwanda offers a more luxurious park experience and is best if you are short on time, particularly if you want to combine gorillas with an East Africa big-game safari. However, the permits for Rwanda are more than double the price (USD 1500 per trek in 2018).
Rwanda’s mountain gorillas have a thick, shabby fur. In contrast, Uganda’s mountain gorillas have a shorter, shiny fur. When watching this gorilla trekking video you can clearly the see where the different shots have been filmed. Both are the same species and the same size – both are also incredibly beautiful. Note that you will need to organize your permit in advance as spaces are carefully restricted for each day.
Uganda gorilla trekking is significantly cheaper at USD 600 per permit. It is more complicated. There are four different trekking trailheads, or sectors, in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and they are many hours apart from each other. You must get a permit for a specific sector on a specific day. Getting to Bwindi is also a challenge, either involving some very long bus journeys through Uganda or crossing the border from Rwanda. The actual gorilla experience is very similar to Rwanda, but it requires more time in your itinerary and is more complicated.
Heritage Africa specializes in non-hunting safaris, connecting you to the greatest wildlife in Africa. We can talk you through all the gorilla trekking options and what would work best for you.

Inside Ellen Degeneres Life-Changing Trip - Rwanda 2018
Rwanda Photos Album here :
Life-Changing Trip
Ellen DeGeneres & wife Portia de Rossi spent time this summer in Great Tew in Oxfordshire - UK , Kenya, Rwanda to launch “The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund “ and Tanzania.
.
Ellen has been teasing since her birthday show in January that she and her wife, Portia are heading to Africa for their holiday for a very special reason.
.
In celebration of Ellen’s 60th birthday on 26 January, and her love for animals, Portia gifted Ellen with her own namesake wildlife fund.
.
Combined with Ellen’s absolute love for Dian Fossey’s dedication to animals, Portia added that The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund’s first initiative would be to build a gorilla conservation centre in Rwanda and will form part of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
Well, the time for Ellen to visit the location which she plans to help has finally come.
The couple’s African adventures began in Kenya to Rwanda to Tanzania and ended back to Kenya
.
Their trip started on a high as they spent time at Soho farm House in Great Tew in Oxfordshire .
They then moved on to Kenya to spend a pit moment at Giraffe Manor
After that they flew to Rwanda, where Ellen and Portia met with President Paul Kagame, the President of the Republic of Rwanda to discuss The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund’s efforts to build a gorilla conservation centre.
The couple also spent time with the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and got to witness the breathtaking gorillas they are vying to save, in their natural habitat.
.
Ending their trip on a high, Portia and Ellen spent their final days between Kenya and Tanzania in the Serengeti.
Ellen Degeneres and her wife fly back to Nairobi for conservation of elephants at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
Upon their return, Ellen thanks all those she and Portia met who made their trip so special, including their trust safari guide, Michael Lorentz.

GoodwinSZN Travel: Gorilla Trekking In Rwanda Part I
Hey GoodwinSZN, we are finally headed to trek the gorillas. This experience was unbelievable. Shout out to Ubuntu Travel Group for creating this memorable experience! During the video you may hear us making gorilla sounds and grunts. These sounds are used to let our presence be known to the gorillas. We are basically asking them for permission to come into their home. Our hike took almost two hours going up. Did we look tired or what? Stay tuned for part II. Are you sitting at the edge of your seat yet? No worries, you will be soon. Stay tuned. Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT, AND SUBSCRIBE!

Road to Hell - Mount Bisoke, Rwanda
Want to see mountain gorillas in Rwanda? To get to Mount Bisoke, you must drive a few miles on the Road From Hell. The road was put in 50 years ago at the behest of Dian Fossey, the researcher who made the gorillas famous back in the 1960s, who is buried in the mountains, along with her favorite mountain gorilla, Digit, both of whom were killed by poachers.

Gorilla Trekking Highlights - Rwanda 2015
I went to Rwanda in July 2015 with Visiting Orphans to volunteer. After the trip, I went up to Volcanoes National Park to go gorilla trekking. I used my GoPro HERO3+ Silver Edition attached to a head strap to film it. These are the highlights from the 30+ minutes of footage I had.

Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda
Dramatic, thrilling and poignant. A wildlife experience of a lifetime!
Uganda & Rwanda: Kampala, rafting the Nile, mountain gorillas, and Kigali (2019)
Navigating the hustle and bustle of urban Kampala - the epitome of East Africa's population explosion.
Grade 5 whitewater rafting on the white Nile - the most extreme rapids a non-professional can go on.
Trekking with mountain gorillas in their natural habitat - only 1,000 left in the world, all are only found in this region (border of Uganda, Rwanda, and the DR Congo), and can only be seen in the wild as they cannot be kept in captivity. Exploring Rwanda's capital, Kigali - incredibly clean and much more modern than most may think. No wonder they call it the 'Singapore of Africa'. Then had a lay-over in actual Singapore on the way back.
Tips:
East Africa:
-bring plenty of USD, tours and hotels give discounts
-there's security checkpoints everywhere (malls, hotels etc)
-powerbanks, mosquito repellent
-be prepared to do your own laundry
-need Yellow Fever vaccination certificate to get in/out of many countries
Kampala:
-get around on SafeBoda motorbike taxis (don't even need to download app just flag them down)
-central/Gadafi mosque for good view of city
-Bahai temple worth visit (only 7 in world), don't let you take photos/videos though
-walk around old Kampala in morning, try 'rolex with 2 eggs' for breakfast
-The Lawns Wild Game BBQ restaurant for all sorts of game meat
-Acacia mall for modern shopping needs
Rafting on Jinja:
-highly highly recommend grade 5 full day extreme rafting at
-So well organised and beyond the adrenalin, the Nile scenery is stunning
-bring sunscreen with you - there's another boat where they'll store it for you
-actually, wear long sleeves as you get sun burned so much
-water is slow on many parts of the Nile so expect lots of rowing!
Gorilla tour in Bwindi Impenetrable national park:
-went with Monkey Adventures ($1.3k USD) for 3 day tour (day 1 mostly drive from Kampala to Bwindi area, day 2 gorilla trek, day 3 Bunyonyi lake and drive back)
-I arranged to get driven to Kigali (quite close to Kabale, near gorilla area) instead of back to Kampala
-wear gum boots, bring rain coat
-there's chance you won't get to see gorillas, in that case they offer you to come back next day for free so keep next day free just in case
Kigali:
-get around on motorbike taxis, very safe and they quote fair price. city is small so good to walk too
-start with genocide memorial, makes you appreciate how fast and far the country has transformed since
-rooftop bar on top of Ubumwe Grand Hotel
-Shokola storytellers cafe behind Kigali library
-convention centre nice in early evening
-try fish tacos at The Hut
