Goetheanum, Dornach, Switzerland
The remarkable Goetheanum building, named after the German writer and statesman, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, is the headquarters of Anthroposophy and a conference centre and auditorium located in Dornach in the Swiss Jura.
The building, and others in this small town, was built by architect Rudolph Steiner entirely in steel and poured concrete, a technique that interested and influenced later architects such as le Corbusier. The present building (an earlier one constructed of wood burned down following an arson attack) was opened in 1928, unfortunately after Steiner’s death.
Anthroposophy means ‘the wisdom of the human being’ ; it aims to connect the spritual element in Man with the spiritual in the universe as a whole.
Most visitors to Dornach head for the ruined castle on the hill, perhaps not realising that a historic piece of impressionist architecture is open to the public every day, 08.00 to 22.00, with 80 minute guided tours.

The Section for Agriculture at the Goetheanum is one of eleven Sections of the School of Spiritual Science at the Goetheanum, Dornach/Switzerland. Its main tasks are to coordinate and give new impulses to the biodynamic movement worldwide. We organize courses, seminars, working groups, conferences, lecture tours and publications for people who seek to deepen their knowledge of agriculture out of anthroposophical spiritual science. We carry out research and development projects. A key concern for us lies in stimulating individuals to take on responsibility in agriculture, gardening, processing, and trade, in nutrition, inner work, and public relations.

650 students from over 30 countries from all around the world have come together for 5 inspiring days at the Goetheanum to explore the theme of COURAGE together.
5 days of critical reflection and great, inspiring conversations, lectures and workshops lead us to acting from our hearts and to carrying our impulses to other people at the Creative Intervention in Basel. We are certain that these beautiful encounters brought up the strong will inside all of us and lots of warmth to keep courage within us and to spread it in our surrounding.
