South West Coastal Path | A Walk From Stonebarrow Hill to Golden Cap
Hands down one of the most impressive long-distance walks in the world is the South West Coast Path - 630 miles of designated National Trails boasting undulating cliffs and hidden coves, smugglers paths and sandy beaches, fishing villages and millions of years of geology.
One of the most popular day walks along the trail scales Golden Cap, the highest point on the South Coast that also happens to sit within the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Join Abbie Barnes as she heads out to explore this stunning section of the coastal path and witnesses a mind-blowing sunset!

Dorset Jurassic Coast - England - UNESCO World Heritage Site
The Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site on the English Channel coast of southern England. The site stretches from Orcombe Point near Exmouth in East Devon to Old Harry Rocks near Swanage in East Dorset, a distance of 153 kilometres (95 mi).[1] Chartered in 2001, the Jurassic coast was the second wholly-natural World Heritage Site to be designated in the United Kingdom. Its entire length can be walked on the South West Coast Path. The Jurassic Coast consists of Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous cliffs, spanning the Mesozoic Era, documenting 180 million years of geological history.
The site shows excellent examples of landforms, including the natural arch at Durdle Door, the cove and limestone folding at Lulworth Cove and an island, the Isle of Portland. Chesil Beach is a fine example of both a tombolo (a deposition landform in which an island is attached to the mainland by a narrow piece of land such as a spit or bar)and a storm beach (a beach affected by particularly fierce waves). The site has stretches of both concordant and discordant coastlines. Due to the quality of the varied geology, the site is the subject of international field studies. This area was home to Mary Anning, a palaeontologist who studied the fossils of the coastline around Lyme Regis and discovered the first complete Ichthyosaur fossil.
The highest point on the Jurassic Coast, and on the entire south coast of Britain, is Golden Cap at 191 metres (627 ft).

Durdle Door
The Jurassic limestones on the Isle of Portland have been extensively quarried.
The site was featured on the television programme Seven Natural Wonders as one of the wonders of the South West (of the UK), and in a 2005 poll of Radio Times readers, the Jurassic Coast was named as the 5th greatest natural wonder in Britain.
During World War II several sections of the Jurassic Coast became property of the Ministry of War. One of the Royal Navy's largest bases was at Portland Harbour, though it has since closed. A major army base at Bovington remains in use today, and large areas of land, including the coast between Lulworth Cove and Kimmeridge, including Tyneham ghost village, are still only partially accessible. Areas of the coast near Exmouth, The Fleet at Weymouth and the beaches at Studland have also been used for training for war, but have since been returned to civilian use.
Stacks, such as Old Harry's Rocks at Handfast Point, are common along the coast.
Parts of the coast, especially around Portland, can be dangerous, and shipwrecks have been a feature of the coast. In January 2007 the coast experienced its most environmentally damaging wreck when the MSC Napoli, a 2,400 capacity container ship, was beached at Branscombe near Sidmouth, losing oil and cargo.[3]
On May 6 2008, a 400-metre (1,312 ft) section of the coast was destroyed after a landslip that was described as the worst in 100 years.[4]

Undercliff, the Walk into Lyme Regis.
Some shots might be recognised from a film starring Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons based on a book by John Fowles. This is our walk into town, today with wellies. The undercliff is habituated by many types of mythical beasts and wonders: wood elves are common, but so are marauding goblins and we often hear tales of dumb ass trolls (who take the silencers off their motorbikes). This day we were not chased by black riders,( I suppose that's because it's many years since we destroyed the precious), but artistic pretensions they hounded and haunted us everywhere. Not only must each shot mean something so elusive you'll never get it, it must also be boring...
Croyde Beach And Village North Devon.
Croyde is a village on the west-facing coastline of North Devon, England. The village lies on the South West Coast Path near to Baggy Point, which is owned by the National Trust. It lies within the North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Croyde village and its beach faces the Atlantic Ocean near the western limit of the Bristol Channel.
Croyde Stream runs through the village, eventually leading to the beach. The centre of the village is roughly at the intersection of Hobbes' Hill, Jones' Hill and St. Mary's Road. At this spot, Croyde Bridge carries the road over the stream.
Public services are provided by the North Devon District Council (NDDC) based in Barnstaple. The village is in the civil parish of Georgeham, and for ecclesiastical purposes within the Diocese of Exeter.
The village has several small campsites, a small retail area and two large holiday parks; Croyde Bay Holiday Resort (operated by UNISON) and Ruda Holiday Park, operated by Parkdean Resorts.
The past 30 years has seen large increases in younger-age visitors develop around surfing. The impact of tourism on the village has been varied. Some local landowners have benefited from the increased property prices. Tourism has helped to create jobs that were lost in agriculture. Local farming has declined, with former farmland converted into caravan sites and fields for seasonal camping. Like many seaside villages, the phenomenon of second homes has pushed house prices beyond the reach of most local people. There is little year-round employment, because tourism is seasonal, and most businesses are closed out of season.
Since 1999, Croyde has hosted an annual surfing and music festival (GoldCoast Oceanfest) on the weekend closest to the summer solstice.
Croyde has also benefitted from the 'street food revolution,' being the hometown of Lola's Wings who have a pitch there, and other visiting street food trucks and trailers.
During the summer season, there is an outdoor market each Tuesday which is held in a field off Moor Lane past Ruda Holiday Park heading towards Baggy Point.

Ichthyosaur
All Models built by Koban studios are specifically designed for optimum performance and effect. The careful distribution of triangulated polygons assure the lowest polygon count for maximum game rendering as demonstrated in the profiler. The balance is in minimising the vertices without sacrificing the end realistic effect. The Ichthyosaurs skeleton is a fully working aquatic reptile. It has many dramatic animations included, swimming, short and long attacks, it can catch smaller ichthyosaurs from a distance, flicking its tail and propelling itself forward.
The animator controller allows you experience what it would feel like to swim in the Mesozoic era seas, filled with other ichthyosaurs that act both as predator and prey. included are AI ichthyosaurs that can either follow set markers or make their own random paths. The Sensors included help them avoid objects and each other, creating realistic looking scenes. AI models are capable of following targets that can easily placed throughout the scene. The AI’s automatically sync their speed and turning velocity to the targets so the user will not need to adjust. This native project and its unique scripts will provide the user with a plug and play facility that combines the features of many other unity projects. The model can be easily adapted to replicate specific species of ichthyosaurs, its bones can be rescaled and a higher polygon version of the scull is included. Its value is in combining a high quality model with all the other features such as target led AI, multi animations in one single project
