Japanese Gardens at Gosford Regional Gallery
The beautiful Japanese gardens at Caroline Bay near East Gosford are tranquil and inspirational. Immaculately presented, these gardens are especially amazing in spring. Wisteria hangs gracefully from the pergola and the Azaleas, in full bloom present massed displays of colour. Viewing the raked stone garden, the pagodas and the Japanese water bowl as well as the beautifully shaped hedges is a very pleasant experience.

心の風景 - Mind Scenery by Koichi Ishino
Gosford Regional Gallery presents its fourth Annual Major Artist Survey. This important series of exhibitions explores the practice of significant local artists. This year’s Annual Major Artist Survey celebrates the career of internationally recognised sculptor, Koichi Ishino. Ishino immigrated to Holgate, New South Wales, Australia in 2009 but still visits Japan regularly, where he has another studio. This exhibition represents Ishino’s significant works over the last 25 years. Works range in scale and include large sculptures constructed from granite, marble and stainless steel. Three selected works are displayed within the Edogawa Commemorative Garden.
The exhibition is titled Kokoro no fūkei 心の風景 - Mind Scenery. Ishino’s sculptures are themed around the concept of nature and scenery. This has been a strong element within his works since university. The work is inspired by the traditional Japanese art style called Kachōfūgetsu, which is a common theme within Chinese and Japanese poetry and painting. It literally translates to flower, bird, wind and moon. Its meaning is best described by a traditional Japanese saying, to experience the beauties of nature and in doing so learn about oneself - nature is the greatest teacher.
Ishino has exhibited in Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi 15 times and Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 10 times. The artist has won the sculpture section of Gosford Art prize twice and many other international prizes.

The ten most beautiful places on the Central Coast
This film seeks to spark debate about beauty in our enviroment, something not talked about enough. Nature is so spectacular all over Australia, that we take it for granted.
There is also an uncaring laziness with the built enviromment. We dont need to build beautiful becuse it's too expensive , and anture will dress things up for us.
This film show how much we rely far too much on nature to provide beauty in our lives and how we could do much better with what we build. Places wont stay beautiful if we dont protect them
