Encanto Park Golf Pro Mike Swartz Doing What Matters
Phoenix has 300 plus days of sunshine so it is a great place for golf. In fact, the city of Phoenix owns and operates five 18-hole championship golf courses and three nine-hole courses. Mike Swartz is the Head Golf Pro who manages the historic and beautiful Encanto Golf course.
Mike started golf at an early age and remembers walking with his dad, pulling his pull cart around Maryvale Golf Course. He has played on the PGA Tour and also played in the Phoenix Open four times as well as four U.S.Open’s. Today he is the golf pro for Encanto Golf, he teaches golf and runs city golf tournaments and he loves every single minute of it.
He says working at the city’s golf course brings back memories of all the junior golf programs he played in. He is especially proud of the partnerships with the First Tee program and the Arizona Junior Golf Association.
